Well I bought this TWT on Steam via a half price cdkeys.com deal, as I am as crazy as a Man Utd fan that believes they are bigger than my soon to be world conquering Liverpool F.C. (in terms of trophies valued per "relevance" at least, Liverpool are STILL ahead and we didn't need Slur Alex's funding towards the referee's to get there.........)

And I tell you what, as poor as TWT is right now, there is a semblance of.....................................yeah, you guessed it............."s__es__n" in it on ground strokes.....,

I am off to find the MikeyMerren equivalent over at BigBen, to pester him to include proper "s__es__n" in future updates....................I might have more chance though of being the minutes taker for the recent Donald and "Kim" summit in Singapore..................but what are the chances though that Donald didn't do his homework before heading out there, and all along he thought Kim was a "babe", and that he might end up banging her, with his hairpiece spinning quicker than a Nathan Lyon special, and subsequently culminating in another bouncing bedsprings related notch post, with his "Strump" technique??


He might have fantasied about having Kim as his bit on the SIDE, but just imagine the SPIN he would have had to give to explain that "Kim" was not what he was expecting out there!

You need to thank me, and others on here, and mainly of course MikeyMerren@BigAnt who has had the odious task of not only listening to us customers, and yes for the 2nd time, I have damn well paid for THIS game twice (PS4 £59 in Jan 2018 and £40 on Steam after my sidespin advice transformed this game after Ross, 4 years ago, obliterated me with some wonderful comments re: sidespin................) , for giving AO International Tennis the gameplay it needed with our heartfelt advice to the coders................but dont get me wrong............without the coders, and BigAnt in the first place, none of us would be able to "pester" with what we would love to see in this game.


And please, less of the Aussie oriented "dude" talk please, now THAT irritates me in the the UK.................unless of course Mark Bosnich has made u a Man Utd fan out there in Australia, is this true.............dude?

And btw (and yes I hate starting sentences with "And".......) how on earth you picked me out on side and spin in my Trump light hearted post above, it shows me how robotic you are mate, maybe you need some aftertouch/curve/bend/dip/spin in your life......

Agree about the wrong thread............but otherwise, if you think adding sidespin in has made this game worse, get yourself and all your (I would guess) Top Spin 4 "chums" who love straight line tennis.................to Speccie Savers!!

"Poorly implemented"........................FFS BigAnt not only added sidespin in, but they nailed it for me, and maybe they DO need to tone it down just slightly, but "Poorly Implemented"??

Quite easy to find them in Top Spin 4 though..."the" most realistic Tennis game...

AO Tennis is now amazing and the more people realize this the better.

If you think Top Spin 4 is shit there is something seriously wrong yes it is not perfect but it's still by far the most fledged out, fluent, realistic game we have on consoles. Full Ace and Tennis Elbow have side spin implemented well dude unlike AOIT.

I get it you like sidespin and look so do I as I feel it does add to the realism I'm not saying don't include it I'm saying include it properly. Look if we got a Top Spin 5 we probably would of got side spin included unfortunately we won't know as the studio has been shut down. Also Top Spin 4 was 2k Czech's first time at developing a tennis game and for a first time effort they nailed it.

Some good banter tonight and ultimately, we are all after the same thing, and I must admit, I DID go a bit overboard with my side and spin comments in recent years (yes years, not months!), I could not resist it, and I feel/hope I helped it get included better in this years AO Tennis, but I do agree that now it is in, it maybe toooo much in it, happy for it to be toned down to halfway maybe if MikeyM can do that, not sure what others think.


Onwards and upwards for all sports games that's what I say!!!


Oh and my mentioning of TS4 everytime was due to the apparent "no sidespin" on show in it, but playing it tonight in the PS3 emulator at 4K on PC (now able to play it and lots of other PS3 games at 4K / 60 fps ) it appears to show, which couldnt be seen before clearly on PS3/Xbox360, that maybe there is a slight strain of sideways movement on ground strokes, albeit really really feint curve on the shots.

The ball always rotates (when viewed in replays which sadly you cannot rotate to the view you wish to view them from) in slow motion with a kind of anti clockwise spin on it, even when the shot clearly had clockwise spin on it if, say, Nadal hit a left hand top spin shot down the line, so if there IS sidespin and left/right deviation of the ball flight in the game, which on PC @ 4K it seems to depict on occasion, the coders still showed 50% of the time the ball actually spinning in the opposite direction.....................but at least I am happy to be proven wrong now, TS4, albeit in a confused manner, does appear to have some ironic curve on the shots at times.

So there you go, I love to be proved wrong, I want this in all games!!

I also always appreciated how fluent and likelike TS4 looked previously, and now, I think I am fully onboard after releasing my sidespin worries into the ether now that 2160 resolution is showing the games movement more clearly, and we now have Virtua Tennis 4, Grand Slam Tennis 2, Top Spin 4, AO Tennis and "Tennis Well its Poor" by Breakpoint,..............nice choices to have...

If anyone would like me to upload some Top Spin 4 on PC @ 2160 4k to a fresh thread, please let me know, because finally Top Spin 4, as with Grand Slam Tennis 2, is now very very playable at 60 fps at 4K resolution on PC.............................I am all lined up ready to upload and finally let my TS4 gripes goooooooo !!!

No but he is too scared to engage with a girl on a forum... Many are! I don't feel the chore dynamics of the gameplay are on par with AOIT... This was the basis of my purchase for the AO game.

Can we all drop any reference to Top spin 4 as we can no longer play it and it's gone, sounds like we need a lot of equipment to be able to breath life into it. So, not a workable situation for the let gamer... Let's stick to games we can purchase easily on the current market and play with ease on our current systems... Emulators sound very star trek and I have no clue.

Of course, a dozen PM's from top dudes here and loads of videos of both games makes me make an informed opinion. Being honest the creation tools in AOIT shades it... And IMHO the game play looks more organic.

Hey Cat sorry I have not been able to engage with you due to commitments with Uni and Physio through the majority of the day today I've been replying quickly on my phone to a lot of things and have not really got the chance to sit down and really go through the thread till now.

First of all it wasn't the side spin point I was annoyed with it was the constant going on and on about it that annoyed me, anyway I have worked things out with Dazzer now and hope we can move forward.

Second of all I feel that you have to know all the issues of AO that have not been fixed since launch go check out one of JohnnyDGaming's videos from Jan and you can see that their are still bugs from that build that grace us today player movement being one of them. I feel if you had got the game in May/June you would probably give it more of a chance to improve as you are playing the version that we have now got after 5 months of waiting as your first version of the game we have had 5 months of waiting for real solid improvement and has the game improved yes but not at the level it should be.

Tennis World Tour was only released three weeks ago thats why I am giving it that waiting period for updates and improvements, some areas of the world only got it yesterday and some are still waiting so I'm waiting for every area to get it and a couple of updates to really base my opinion of the game. Right now all I can see is that TWT at launch is better then what AO was at launch in Jan.

Also I would like to say thanks for backing me up in that reply to Ross earlier I appreciate it heaps.

I don't like the game but it's ok but right now I see a lot more potential with TWT (at this stage of time) then I do with AO, the launched game while flawed was actually quite decent to play unlike AO's launch in Jan where it was just a unplayable mess. TWT recently shot down the rumour that the game was only 20 percent finished on facebook they said that, that comment was misquoted and the game was really missing 20 percent of its content idk if that was damage control but it is kind of good to hear a offical word on that matter anyway. They also laid out future details for patches over the next few weeks/months which sound pretty good and acknowledged that it has been a bit of a shaky launch.
