TENNIS Tennis World Tour

This game is a scam... Some Google translated quotes from this article;

Alain Falc, the boss of Bigben Interactive. Indeed, he admitted that a few weeks before the release, the development of the game was completed only 20%. " He nevertheless refused to postpone [the marketing] to not lose the benefit of marketing campaigns already committed, and now plays the firefighter"

Alain Falc believes that Tennis World Tour remains very popular with tennis fans and promises a " re-edition fine tuned " for the next year.

Finally, financially, Bigben Interactive seems satisfied. " We put 500 000 pieces on the market but with many distributors who have no right of return, so we know that we will be a beneficiary"

So they basically already made their money by selling physical copies to distributors who can't return them, so they were already in profit before anyone could know just how terrible the game would be... Allowed to happen because this console generation is stuck in the past still using physical discs, and brainless consumers still pre-ordering video games.

Let's not forget that AO Tennis (Aus/NZ release) pretty much did this as well, though...

AO tennis has had about twenty patches since release in January....whatever you feel about AO tennis, that ain't the same......

And AO has only sold physical copies in certain regions, most countries are digital only.

I've cropped the article into a photo and posted it to Twitter, I was informed that the CEO had a similar mentality to the way Ross goes about things... well I'm praying for EA or 2K to make a good tennis game now.

The original Aus release was completely unfinished, and in no state for a retail release... Matches TWT's "20% finished" in my books.

They showed hardly any gameplay (maybe 2 seconds in the vid with Kokkinakis) before it hit the shelves, so were obviously hoping people (/retailers) would just pre-order or buy on impulse without knowing anything about it... As well as advertising it with nonsense/lies like;

"Based on ten years of ball tracking data taken from Australian Open championship matches, players behave as they would in real life.

That one still hasn't been explained in the slightest...

About the number of patches... Yes, they are making an effort at least, but it's still hardly at a level anywhere near TS3/4. The praise seems to be down to the fact they are trying, and the comparison being made is to the horrific early Aus version, and TWT... If the current version of AOIT was the one we first saw any gameplay of, it would have still been slated.

As I've said though, I'll keep an eye on it's progress, but it's still a pretty horrible tennis game at the moment.

Probably one of the few who agrees with me on the state of AOIT, I've probably had a more vocal opinion of it due to doing numerous videos on the career and live streams of late though

Yeah, but he has not even tried either game. I take those opinions with a grain of salt. I can respect your opinion because you have given all 3, including Full Ace a fair go. I myself am guilty of making comments on TWT without playing it. I am trying to steer away from that.

To even be able to give it a try, I'd have to shell our £40 and the game is nowhere near being worth that to me, when TE and FA have better gameplay fundamentals for less than half the price (£19.49)... I can hardly see anything that AOIT does better than those games to justify a purchase, especially given the price.

It's pretty biased to think the only valid opinions are those from people who already thought it was worth spending that money on. Obviously most of those would be positive for that very reason.

Enough can be gathered from videos about the physics/animation and pace/patterns of play to see it's not much of a simulation... Saying you need to play the game to judge it at all, is like saying you need to eat shit to decide if you like the taste or not.

Plus one of the main impressions of the gameplay from a trusted member on ITST was that movement is very clunky/automated, which is surely one of the most important gameplay layers of any tennis game, yet AOIT lacks that...

I hope it improves, but I'm not paying £40 for the privilege of trying it in it's current state.

And I respect that. The same applies for me with TWT for $60 right now on ps4.

I never said that, I said I take opinions from those whom have not played it with a grain of salt, and I would not comment on the taste of shit as I have not tried it, I know what it smells like, but who knows, maybe it tastes like roasted marshmallows and we're all just missing out?

Ok, guys, I have just run some tests here, in London, UK, and it was of a shit I did earlier today.

It kinda tasted like toasted, not roasted, marshmallows, and u will have to take my word for it as I know my shit.

Let's face facts TWT seems to have fallen back and AOIT has replaced it at number one... Due in part to the patches and support but does this mean they are trying to patch a sinking ship?

By the way my 'business' smells of roses x x x

The reviews are pretty much neck and neck (although for some reason AOIT on XB1 is doing much better than PS4) I think AOIT is slightly ahead, but it's tight - Mario is out in a couple of weeks and looks very mint, but obviously it's Switch exclusive so shouldn't steal much business from these two.
