Test Your Internet Speed

Not bad, I guess.

In India up and down bandwidth seems similar as compared to other countries.

Same here. BTW, when I was in Mumbai a few weeks ago I convinced my parents to get the TATA Teleservices PowerLauncher 8Mbps plan. Was pretty surprised that Downspeed was in the 6-7.5Mbps range very consistently. I was expecting about 4Mbps max!

What did you tell them? I'll have to try that... :p

Told them I had to VPN to work and a 256 Kbps line wasn't going to cut it. :)

Wont work with you Kshitiz :p

Is TATA's service good only in Mumbai? In Delhi, I've seen a lot of people complain about their speed and reliability.
Apparently, on a 1 Mbps plan (1 up-1 down, unlimited), they were just allowing 300 Kbps upload. Even the download speed was around 600-700 max.

Haha. BSNL 750 UL 256Kb/s plan. No upgrade :laugh:facepalm

I am just waiting for BSNL or Airtel to come out with new plans or else I will go for Airtel 1 MB's plan.

You've seen Airtel's new plans? PATHETIC. They've made use of FUP as the original broadband limits before. They call their plans unlimited, but every plan's speed comes down to 256kbps after they cross a "Fair Usage Policy" limit. The worst part is, that this limit is kept 5GB in some plans. 4Mbps till 5GB, and 256kbps after that. So much for unlimited...
