Test Your Internet Speed

office connection acting slow today so I tested it . Weird, its normally at around 40-50. Lots of traffic today, and its 2pm I guess

^ Damn thats a good connection but its weird that the upload speed is double the download speed it actually should be vice versa.

What office is it?
I think they must be on a Leased line.. upload should be equal to download normally.
Are they running their servers on the connection?

Then your plan sucks :p
Home plans need more download than upload.

Abhas added 2 Minutes and 53 Seconds later...

How much is it anyway?

Im not going to release my employers name :laugh but its an international non-profit. Thats all you will get out of me :)

Anyways, Ill run another test tomorrow, that was the whole reason I posted it because I have never seen my work connection like that before.

Its usually 40-50 download and 30-40 upload. Hopefully its back to normal tomorrow

Wont work with you Kshitiz :p

Is TATA's service good only in Mumbai? In Delhi, I've seen a lot of people complain about their speed and reliability.
Apparently, on a 1 Mbps plan (1 up-1 down, unlimited), they were just allowing 300 Kbps upload. Even the download speed was around 600-700 max.
This wasn't TATA Photon or whatever that subsidiary of TATA is. It was a different department caleld TATA Teleservices which actually is targeting organizations rather than individuals, I think.

Same. Tata Indicom, Tata DOCOMO and Tata Photon brand operate under Tata Teleservices. Its called TTML in Maharashtra.

Tata Teleservices definitely operates under a different division than Photon. We called up Photon support once trying to figure out what a problem was but they had no record of our account.

Looking at their Wiki page, they list Indicom, DoCoMo, Virgin and Sky as the brands provided by that subdivision.

Got this result from Uni a few days ago!! Incredible I must say. Most probably it was just a temporary surge of speed, but nevertheless, it's Awesome :D

The Sydney server regularly gives 100mbps + speeds, but it's the servers in US and other places where the actual speed is tested. That's somewhere around 10 mbps.
