I pay the same amount for a much slower connection. Around 0.6 mbps down speed.

I know its costly but the problem is the only other ISP here is BSNL. So i have no choice.

Why don't you purchase a USB modem. I use Vodafone 3G USB stick and get unlimited data transfer with a speed of about 7-10 MBPS for just Rs. 500/m (Rs. 2,999/6m)
