Can't predict it yet. I remember India chasing a 459 run target against New Zealand at Auckland back in 2014 and they were some 350+ with 5 wickets in hand and also more than a day's play was left and India were bundled out under 400. Honestly I believe he should step down from the Captaincy but the question arises who could replace Root as the Captain ?

There isn't a replacement for Root. There in lies the issue. It's easy to see that the captaincy appears to weigh him down, but most of the rest of the side struggle already. And Ben Stokes would probably run himself into the ground if it went to him.

3-4 years is more than enough time to prepare a replacement.

70-30 in favour of Australia. I would still say England has a chance of pulling this one off so I won't write them off just yet.

If there ever was a time to silence the criticism of not converting 50s into 100s, it's this. So what's Root goona do?


On a sidenote, what are the options of watching the Ashes online in India apart from Sony Liv? Sadly, they have gone the Hotstar way and offer only 10 minutes of free streaming.

I don't mind a delayed broadcast, but paying another subscription is ridiculous. I suppose it's the bane of having so many video streaming services.
