4 batsmen out to playing shots they think they are good at only to find out they aint as good as they think......again!

In fairness to Mitch Marsh, he has been bowling exceedingly well. Touching 90 mph and swinging the ball both ways is outstanding and very difficult to play.

But at the same time, England are dreadful and hopefully this can put paid to the idea that Sam Curran is the answer to pretty much anything.

Its just utter arrogance for someone like Curran to come in like that.... earn the effing right to even be there in the middle mate.....feck me we are just going backwards.....even all the luck in the world cant save us....we are asked to bat in glorious sunshine on a road, Root is out four times, Curran is out twice.....and we still eff it up![DOUBLEPOST=1568304781][/DOUBLEPOST]Hey captain you sure you want to bowl first on this.....?

Its England boys all we have to do is wait for them to feck it up....

Oh, credit where credit is due. He's no mug with the ball. I seem to remember Marsh doing this to England once or twice before in a test or ODI.

Exactly, it's a complete embarrassment. But also not in the least bit surprising when you pick a team with only three specialist batsmen, two of which are out of position.

tweaking Sibley wouldn't bat like this, he's fight a bit.

So would Northeast.

I presume Pope would too, although he can be a bit of a dasher.

Foakes would.

Bloody hell, half of the county pros out there would do a better job. Do you think Alex Wakely would just give it away like this? Or Liam Dawson? Or Chris Dent? Or Billy Godleman? Or Darren Stevens?

Makes me so angry all the bullshit being spouted about character and positives and forging the future and the captaincy not affecting Root and bla bla bla

The Aussies must be loving this: half hung over and England kindly throw themselves under the bus....,

170 for 3 we were.....

There absolutely has to be wholesale change because this this is as predictable as it is dogshit.

There needs to be change with the County Championship: it doesn't necessarily need more matches, but it does need better matches.

There needs to be a change of captaincy, because every player who plays like this needs an absolute bollocking off the captain and if they were getting that then they wouldn't still be batting like idiots.

There needs to be a change of coaching (not just of coach) because every player who has been anywhere near England or the Lions has regressed. Anyone remember Adam Riley?

There needs to be an overwhelming change of attitude, because you have to earn the right to play like this.

So England has a really good ODI team for now - that's great! Continue investing in that, but it didn't have to come at the expense of the Test team at all. In a side with Burns, Sibley, Denly/Northeast, Root, Pope, Stokes, Foakes, Archer, Leach, Broad, Anderson only three of those cross over with the ODI set-up. AND THAT IS OKAY.

Goodness me, is that Mitch Marsh with four wickets in there? I take back my words, even Jack Ikin might find a spot in this absolutely terrible side. :facepalm
