The best they could bowl at him yesterday night was beneath his shoulder height.Well done S.Iyer. I assume he must have faced a barrage of short balls given that Rabada and Nortje were playing. So, props for surviving that.
I feel that was unfair on Siraj's part to argue about the boundary (if that is what the talk was about). If he was attempting a run out (and would have almost certainly appealed had the ball hit the stumps), he shouldn't have an issue with the umpire declaring it as overthrows.
The main question to be asked -what happens to these performers post the WT20? Do the likes of Iyer and Sanju get longer ropes/ more chances over the WT20 guys in ODIs? I would want to think so, but going by some baffling decisions made by the Indian board, wont put my money on it,
This is what concerns me. The selectors might consider SKYs T20 form and try to have him leapfrog Iyer.SKY hasn’t really done anything notable in ODIs to be the first choice so far
