Surprising the genius behind Big Bang was guilty of inflicting 'Two and a half laughs' on us
Only watched a few episodes and thought it was really cheesy and the jokes predictable. But will give it another shot, maybe I just saw the wrong episodes. (time machine)
No doubt. I chanced on it, can't remember which episode. If you want to test the water, "the friendship algorithm" is classic. I can see why some don't get on with it, some episodes I find hard work and more cringeworthy than funny at times. They are repeating series three on Thursday E4 9pm, Saturday 7pm E4 and late on a Tuesday night on C4. The paintball episode where they shoot Sheldon's "spot" on the sofa is brilliant, and the way he reacts when he finds out they switched takeaways is brilliant! Sheldon is just quality, his naivety and basic refusal to accept anything which is logical is funny as feck. Attempts to teach him how to drive the perfect example, when he puts all of those giving him a lift off doing so. He goes into the driving centre and metaphorically rips to pieces the questions he is given as inaccurate and confusing :
?This first question makes no sense,? he tells the clerk when applying for a learner?s permit. ??How many car lengths should you leave in front of you when driving?? There?s no possible way to answer that. A car length is not a standardized unit of measure. Question two: ?When are roadways most slippery?? Now there are three answers, none of which are correct. The correct answer is when covered by a film of liquid sufficient to reduce the coefficient static friction between the tire and the road to essentially zero but not so deep as to introduce a new source of friction.?

Oh, the other classic is when Sheldon shuts himself out of his "fortress of solitude" ("that's Superman's ice thingy right?" according to Penny!) He ends up getting a better understanding of "friends with benefits" when he sleeps over, but the best bit is when they are playing "20 questions", not only comparing C3P0 to a "shiny Sheldon" but when it is Sheldon's turn Raj asks first question "are you Spock?" to which Sheldon replies "I don't like this game"

I'm just waiting for the day where Leonard ends the episode by punching Sheldon square in the face.
Or starting the episode that way. That could be fun
I think Leonard's mum kissing him was funnier, just for the bewildered look on his face and the lack of real tension in the back seat of the car next morning :laugh

*Knock - Leonard and Penny
Do you mean where Sheldon knocks and says the name, knocks and says the name, then knocks and says the name (always three times) except Penny knocks back
*Sheldon knocks* "Penny"
*Penny knocks* "Sheldon"
*Sheldon knocks* "Penny"
*Penny knocks* "Sheldon"
*Sheldon knocks* "Penny"
*Penny knocks* "Sheldon"
Except it is so cleverly done as Sheldon is irked by it and the knocking gets faster :laugh
To penny - "in deference to you I've kept the questions at a high school To level" :laugh
To Leonard- "you've answered the multiple choice in a pattern, A-B-B-A-C, A-B-B-A-C" (Leonard says "you noticed that huh?" with a grin on his face to which Sheldon replies "How could I not?!?")
Oh and Sheldon in the library innocently befriending a little girl while Leonard is more worried that they might get arrested is funny, as is how Sheldon 'deals' with his fear of heights!
