By favourite moments of the show I didn't assume you'd seen every episode but you can still have "favourite moments." And as for "knowing everything about the show/thread" I'm assuming thats aimed at Maclovin seeing as I implied nothing of the sort.
Your assumption about Leonard dating the doctor (Leslie Winkle?) is right mate.
I've got a website that has every ep online if you want it ? (stream not download) Seen any of series 2 or 3?
Leslie Winkle is (one of) Sheldon's nemeses at the university, the other being Kripke. I looked through the episodes list and don't think I've seen any of series one, if I have then it must be a few of the later ones. You are correct in my assertion aimed at maclovin, I am used to people trying to dictate to other members what they can and can't comment on, quite often at my stats/posting style.
Thanks for the offer on watching online, I have three films on my hard drive that I haven't gotten around to watching and would buy if easily and cheaply available, but I don't like sitting at my PC to watch films and play heavily involved games like FM partly because I sit at a PC all day as part of my job.
I don't necessarily agree with the early assertion in this thread that there is no weak character, I think Raj suffers a bit because he's not a dominant character and can't talk in front of Penny so much of his humour is secondary through Wallowitz. He has the potential, but in how many episodes is (one of) the main storyline(s) focused on him?!?! I like him as a character, but the rest just seem to be more dominant, like our pub quiz team has three men in it including myself who jump in with the answer, one other man who contributes but is more subdued and then two women who don't get as involved but do contribute in small parts. I have even suggested splitting into two teams of three, last week only four of our team turned up and the one woman was much more involved, even when we went from two, to three to four (and later the other two arrived and we got accused of cheating by having two 'unregistered players' !) But unlike Friends, BBT does rather give Raj a secondary character role. His character personality is too quiet and reserved, while his selective mutism is quite funny, it does rather inhibit his character potential. Even when there are only men around he is still relatively subdued, not helped by his parents being in India and very little focus on his apartment compared to even the university, comic book store, cheesecake factory or RAJ's apartment. (EDIT)
Talking of locations, I feel that is one thing by which some comedies can struggle. Situations and locations can be two key components of a good story, providing good fodder for jokes. Drop The Dead Donkey was classic for me, while they didn't move out of the office they did have current affairs to make fun of. Only Fools and Horses often made reference to things going on at the time. Does BBT even make reference to current affairs? Still think there is plenty of fuel in the tank for this comedy, just a matter of how far it tries to go and whether it drives off into the desert or along a road with many "gas pumps" (to coin the american variation on our own petrol pumps/stations)
I may well buy BBT series one, I am disappointed not to see it repeated on E4 given they repeat Friends and Scrubs ad nauseam. Maybe the hole left by Friends will be filled with things like BBT, although Scrubs could have made way for it a long time ago. I looked at buying series one and maybe all three yesterday on Amazon, first and second were all around ?9-?10, but all three were effectively no saving at ?38 which is the ?9, ?10 and ?17 or whatever added together. If I get it on DVD there's every chance I'll find time to watch it, but little chance if it means I have to sit at a PC to watch it.
Thanks anyway
