@Dale88 as @ahmedleo414 made an invalid pick, you can go, and he needs to repick.
Whichever of you go, use Walcott.
Whichever of you go, use Walcott.
Garry Sobers
Test stats: 8,032 runs @ 57.78 (26 centuries, best 365*) and 235 wickets @ 34.03 (6 5WI, best 6/73) in 93 matches
Batting VARP (top order): 97.31%
First-class stats: 28,314 runs @ 54.87 (86 centuries, best 365*) and 1,043 wickets @ 27.74 (36 5WI, best 9/49) in 383 matches
An absolutely huge pick here: Garry Sobers, a man whose bowling skills distracted from his outright batting greatness. As a top-order batsman, he averaged 22 runs more than his contemporaries whilst also scoring considerably more freely than those around him. In a team such as mine with an already bulletproof five-man bowling attack, Sobers will be able to focus properly on his batting with his bowling being used as an occasional partnership-breaking option. Honestly, I'm shocked not to see him gone already on the index.

Not a bad substitute.
Greg Chappell
Test stats: 7,110 runs @ 53.86 (24 centuries, best 247*) and 47 wickets @ 40.70 (1 5WI, best 5/61) in 87 matches
Batting VARP (top order): 76.77%
First-class stats: 24,535 runs @ 52.20 (74 centuries, best 247*) and 291 wickets @ 29.95 (5 5WI, best 7/40) in 321 matches
Okay, so I'm very sad that I couldn't get Garry Sobers, but Greg Chappell's batting skills should be a good substitute. Happily, I've also not had to use my chain break yet either - although again I suspect that I'm not far away from doing so. As far as Chappell goes though, he was a dominant batsman in a bowler-friendly era: he averaged 54 as a top-order batsman at a time when everyone else was averaging 35 - an era when John Dyson played 30 Tests for Australia. He was particularly influential as a captain leading from the front: in wins as captain, Chappell averaged a whopping 81.

Well that's a rather devastating triple pickHell, @Aislabie you even used the same picture, lol. But yes, I did pick Sobers and two of the 3W's already.
