Welcome back here to Derbyshire for the last days action. It has certainly felt like a long nights sleep since yesterdays play :D . Yesterday we saw some brilliant batting from Derbyshire in particular debuton Joe Marytn who scored a brilliant 401 no. When the declaration came from Derbyshire skipper Blaine Molloy Essex were left with 12 overs to face before the end of days play. Aussie quick Lee Binga struck quickly firstly cracking Cook fair in the helmet before knocking Jefferson off stump clean out of the ground. Cook and Flower consolidated to finish the day at 1/38.

Well it appears as the umpires are heading out into the middle so let rejoin the action (finally).

A very defensive first session, on the last day, here for the Essex side who are desperatly fighting for a draw. The Derbyshire bowlers failed to make in roads into the Essex top order, however they were able to create numerous chances but poor fielding resulted in the not capitalising.
