Joe Martyn with the same interviewer....

Interviewer: So who is the biggest bitch of the team then?

Martyn: Well, I'm not one to name names, but a certain Yorkshire legend in a parallel universe has got to be up there among them....... muahahahaha!

Briggs is seen pointing at Geoffry Boycott

Briggsey said:
Oh definately Shane Martin, he's always got something interesting to say even thought a lot of the time most of us choose to ignore him and simply nod our heads when he's done babbling on! (laughs)

LOL u told me you love hearing my voice briggsey :D

Phil Tufnell goes up to fellow left-arm spinner Steve Moore to do an interview for his Five Live show as he clean bowls Briggsy

SM: (overheard) Which way did that one go Briggsey, can't you pick my reversing quicker ball boyo!
--------------------

PT: So Steve, you were tremendous last season, with calls for you to replace Ashley Giles in the England team, however, there are rumours that you will be dropped from the Derbys side for the start of the season?

SM: Well Phil, I believe that the Giloscope is one of the most underrated players in the England side. He is brilliant at what he does, a great workmanlike cricketer and works perfectly within the England set-up. I'm currently perfectly happy plugging away in the Disabled side. In regards to your second question, We are a squad of players that work for each other and every personal success for players in the side will be greeted with the same pleasure by every squad member, either playing or not.We are a family at Derbyshire, you have to be at County level cause you spend more time with them than with your friends and family and we all understand that we are all superb young players with a great future and team success for the club can only be good for every player.

PT: So your saying that your O.K about getting dropped?

SM: No, certainly not, as a cricket player you live for playing and by not playing you feel slightly inadequate and guilty about taking wages your not earning, not that you'd know about that Phil, you were to flipping good. What I mean is that, with so many talented players in the squad we understand that we can't all play and the Derbyshire staff feel that your not part of their XI for that game and if your not then your job as a player is to prove to them that you are good enough.

PT: Thanks a lot, do you mind if I bowl one at Briggsy...

SM: You the man that made me want to play cricket Tuffers, be my guest

Tuffers bowls a slow looping flighted ball on a string that goes slightly quicker than he wanted and Briggsy lifts him back over his head only to be caught by skipper Blaine Molloy.... On the Pavilion Balcony!

SM: Not as good as you used to be, I see Tuffers!
PT: Just out of practice Mooro, Just out of practice, Happy Dayz!

Derbyshire v Essex at Derbyshire

Welcome to Derby here for the start of the english county season, which sees Derbyshire at home to Essex. The Derbyshire side will be looking to continue its good form from last season into this new year under the leadership of new Derbyshire captain, and local lad, Blaine Molloy. Molloy was the understudy to aussie import Richie Roberts who has made way this year for a wealth of local talent. The Derbyshire team has added strong allrounder Shaun Briggs to the side from Yorkshire as well as GLoustershires Buck Mack. They are also boasting a host of other youthful talent from around the world that we will surley get to know as the year progresses. Along with the loss of last years skipper Roberts (who is playing as a fill in for Worcestershire) the lads have also lost the team funny man Calum Chance who transfered mid season last year to Gloustershire to take a shot at the captaincy.

Its a overcast day here in Derby for this match as strong breeze blows through the ground, the pitch looks to have a fair cover of grass on it so, this could well be a handy toss to win.

Well it looks as though the capatins have finished the toss of the coin let go down to Mike Atherton talking with Derbyshire captain Molloy.

Molloy has had to scoot off and get the team prepared for the day as he has won the toss and elected to bowl. A few changes to the 11 for Derbyshire with the late transfer of left arm bowler Namit Oringina to Gloustershire to play with close friend Chance, Derbyshire have brought into the starting line up young aussie fast bowler Lee Binga who is a dead set ringer for Brett Lee. Shane Martin will take over the wicket keeping duties and seen as the pitch is so grassy Dufty will move to 12th man and Nikish Acharya will take the new ball. Well thats all the news from here lets head to the action.
