hey guys, unfortunatly i have some bad news. the sav file that i was using for the south africa vs australia odi match stuffed up. i tried to repair it so that the game would work, it got stuck in the pause menu. however when i tried to fix it i have somehow just erased the game all together. i still have the season, up until the australia vs south africa match. would it be better to just delete all posts relating to that game and replay the game. ill try not to use savtweak to change it to night because that is what stuffed it. what would you prefer me to do
a - delete all posts relating to the south african game and replay the game as and all day affair
b - scrap the thread. im hoping that the game wont stuff up any more. if anyone has any other suggestions on what to do please let me know.

please post any suggestions. ill take anything

Australia Vs South Africa - 15 Overs

After winning the toss and electing to have a bat on a pretty flat track, Ricky Ponting and his men looked to build a strong position in the first 15 overs of the match. With fielding restrictions up, Adam Gilchrist continued on his good form from Zimbabwe hitting 16 from 20 including 2 marvelous strokes to the boundary before he was trapped in front by Hall. While Gilchrist started in his usual attacking self, oppening partner Matthew Hayden struggled to find the gaps.

However as the overs and balls continued Hayden showed his trademark power and timing was still with him. This was highlighted in an over in which he took Hall for 15 runs including a huge 6 over long off. Ponting again showed his impecable form as the pair made it to the 15 over mark with Australia sitting comfortably on 1/62, a run rate of 4.13. Hayden (25 from 38 balls) and Ponting (19 from 34 balls) the not out batsmen.

Not the traditionally flashing performance associated with this Australian one day unit but a solid start. Pollock, Hall and now Ntini had bowled very well without taking a wicket and Smiths field placings have kept the runs down and the pressure on the home team.

- Gilchrist looks in control early on. A dashing boundary to begin procedings.
- Hall appeals succesfully for the wicket of Gilchrist, LBW for 16 (20)
- Hayden hits a towering 6 to the second level of the MCG off Hall

guys im having a big problem here. im into the 21st over of the match. as you all know im batting first. i havent used savtweak or anything like that but it now wont let me resume the game after the end of over. can anyone help me with this? i can attach my sav file if that helps but at the moment im at a loss.

you have to use sav tweak swap the teams then change the bowler to another bowler who hasnt bowled 10 overs. then use sav tweak again and swap teams then it will work.

yup this is a problem with the game itself, but you can change it using savtweak.

slow start from AUS, but they have wickets in hand, and the guys lower down the order who can score runs at a good rate at the end.

Brutal Ton Rescues Australia - News Report

Matthew Hayden put an end to speculation and mounting pressure regarding his current form and place in the team today with a brutal and savage 153* at the MCG against rivals South Africa today.

Coming into the match having failed in the first 2 tests of the season against Pakistan (12) and Zimbabwe (6 & 4), public speculation about his time at the top of the worlds most successful batting order began to mount. However in the class of a true champion Hayden hit back at both the critics and the south africans, leaving no area of the grandstand safe on his way to 153 including an amazing 9 sixes.

His return to form could not have come at a better time for the australians as they were in significant trouble after loosing Gilchrist (16), Ponting (29), Martyn (13) and Symonds (2) to be reeling with the score at 4/110. This lead to the arrival of Michael Clarke who chimed in with a solid support play innings of 51* (60) however it was Hayden who stole the show infront of a packed MCG crowd.

The magnificant shot selection of the strong Queenslander was showcased by some huge straight 6's which went into the 3rd teir of the huge MCG grandstands. This type of batting from Hayden may prove ominous for future competitors New Zealand (test), Zimbabwe (ODI) and India (test), australias next tours in this international season.

Match Update - Australias Innings

The first one day international of the season got under way today with two of the best one day teams taking the field. Australia hosted south africa in melbourne infront of a packed MCG crowd.

The australians appeared on the front foot early in the match, Gilchrist finding superb form in the first few overs as the Australians took advantage of the fielding restrictions. However the first 20 overs proved to be fruitful for the South Africans, keeping australia paced at only 4 runs per over and taking the wickets of Gilchrist (16), Ponting (29), Martyn (13) and Symonds (2) to have the home side in slight difficulty at 4/110. The main performer with the ball in the first 25 overs was Jacques Kallis, picking up Ponting and Martyn on his way to 2/55 (10).

This brought Michael Clarke to the middle with Hayden, and in a crucial period for both teams it was Australia who claimed the upper hand. The proteas struggled to contain Clarke and Hayden as they eventually took the score to 4/269 from their allotted 50 overs. The stars with the bat Matthew Hayden with a brililant 153* (155) and Michael Clarke 51* (60).
