Is this a proxy pick or something? Marshall wasnt a part of a world cup winning squad.

Thank you for picking a very young Maco! I was confused whether to consider him or a certain other pacer who has actually done better.

He was very raw and far from his best back then. Good pick on potential nevertheless.

I think the basis of the selection doesn't have to WC performance. He can also pick based on overall career stats

Of course but then since it's a WC based draft, shouldn't the better record at the WCs put a certain player ahead of an otherwise brilliant player who has performed average in WC e.g., Yuvraj ahead of Inazamam?

I'm just reading off the first post
  • You can use International, Domestic, League-based or even World Cup stats to justify your pick, only criteria being that he must be a World Cup Winner.

No, the post said anything can be used to justify pick. Im picking Prime Marshall. Like I picked Sunny G and Jimmy for their test careers

:aus: :ar: Mitchell Johnson | 2015 ODI WC Winner

I wanted a left hand express pace bowler who could rattle the top order of any side, and I found one in Mitchell Johnson. He was probably one of my favorite pacers during my childhood and I used to copy this bowling action a lot, since I am myself a left arm quick while bowling locally in my neighbourhood. Mitchell has actually had an impressive run at both the limited overs world cups taking wickets with an impressive average as well as being economical. And to top it all off, he can also bat a bit, coming handy specially when someone needs to tonk the ball out of the park during the death overs. Johnson is conveniently placed at number 8 for me.

I agree. I think the better XIs here are the ones which have players that actually played good at world cups.

The Jimmy pick still makes me chuckle.

You should have put Aravind at the end of the list, because that now takes a pick from me.

Alas, I'll just forgive you and move forward.
