Draft: The RNG Draft (Panesar Edition)

Uhm, didn't Panesar mean that I can't receive my own player.
I put that in the rules and promptly forgot to hit the big green save button. Sorry about that. (I've fixed this, plus an unfinished sentence on 2.3.)
Isn't that Keiran Powell who switched to baseball to improve his batting but eventually failed to make it big? Was a good talent for sure.
Possibly? It's the only image of someone actually playing cricket that came up when I searched for Ragoonath, so I assumed it was him.

No worries.

Here's the real guy. :)

"EH Henderson", aka Patsy Hendren, will be a great batsman for this team. The second best yet I suspect

Monty Noble is an outstanding pick given he's an elite batsman and a bowler. That'll help with the Rajas.

Alan Fairfax is no Noble but he's also a high0end international allrounder. Good pickup.

Fred Trueman's an all time great quick, posted here in an all-time great pose.

This is the weakest pool yet, which means Phil Salt is the weakest pick yet - still a decent enough opener

Ed Smith

I got a pic from Ed:

Daniel Vettori wasn't a brilliant coach for the Heat, but what he was was an elite offspinner (especially by Kiwi standards) and a more handy bat than most Unlucky Dip specialists.

The other 6 next

LiveInASociety/Paranoid Kendroid (BTW LIAS, check out the Ball Park Music cover of that song)

Ravi Jadeja won't win you a WTC but he's a brilliant spinning allrounder, and we need allrounders here (maybe not LIAS though).

The man has a statue. He's not going to struggle against Brijal Patel.

Yash

Yash picks South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, who should bat 11 for him even if he gets worse than Brijal. But he's a good bowler.

I think this pool robs Ed of one of his nominations for the Dip as Neil Foster goes.

Neo
1687784170732.png
Finally, Nathan Coulter-Nile is a domestic legend who'll easily deal with the Unlucky Dip horseshite... but could struggle against the Bradmans.

Six people sent me their Round 3 Unlucky Dip player with their pick ( @pillowprocter @Bevab @mohsin7827 @Till Valhalla @Paranoid Kendroid and @Aislabie ). While appreciated this wasn't what I intended to ask - I was asking for the Round 1 player for easier copying! With that said, that was my bad.

The remainder of you guys - @ahmedleo414 @CerealKiller @Disharies @Neo 7 @Ed Smith @Supreme General @Yash. - are now asked to submit yours ASAP. Likely Wednesday for the announcement

Just making our lives easier pal. ;)

I thought this was a ODI draft by the way, the mentions of WTC and Bazball do confuse me.

It is. WTC is a reference to Australia winning it (as an Australian, I'm obliged), and can anyone mention Baz without it nowadays?

Unlucky Dip Player 15
Jonathan Lalrinchhana

As expected of a ridiculous name and a bad player in the Unlucky Dip, he has more letters than FC runs. As you may not expect, 12 more - he got a golden duck in his only professional innings.

Nominated by: @Bevab
Received by: @Paranoid Kendroid

Is this the one who had a game for Delhi?
Nope! This is the Hong Kong international

Unlucky Dip Player 17
Dwayne Leverock

Taker of the catch that shook the world (when he came back down to earth), he was actually a competent offie and lower order batsman for Bermuda back in the day. Nowadays he works as a prison officer and I'm not entirely shocked.

The one born in 1960? If so he did play a FC game for Delhi, only reason I remember that was because of looking into the weird cricketers Delhi had throughout their history for my other thread. :D
