Shivam Dube

Wow! this list is full of legends and famous cricketers.

That, my friend, is a list of bombs.

And that I also think leaves just @Yash. to make his first pick

I'm sorry for holding things up. Totally forgot about this thing...

Bill Whitty comes into my team. Had a pretty good First Class career taking 491 wickets at an average of 23. Also, was a left arm pacer so that tilts things heavily in his favor.

How good was he? He played a total of 5 First Class matches against the Legend Victor Trumper. Only thrice was Trumper not out in those innings, and all the other 7 times, Whitty claimed his prized wicket. :)

And that ends round one! Some of us have taken calculated gambles, some of us have had easy picks, and some of us have had Shivam Dube be our best pick. I'll send the next round of picks out Friday, as I'm busy the next couple of days with school.

I'll send out today's picks this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Possibly both, depends on time.

I've sent all picks.

Here's my pool:

No doubt I was hoping for a spinner, but in the end my choice is between two former Sri Lankan batsmen and ICC referees. One is clearly better. Roshen Mahanama comes into the team

Normally people would want to pick the best player, but I'm trying to not pick the worst. :p

I'll go with Mominul Haque, who is perhaps not the worst out of this list of players

So the Fosters comes to me for the picking, and the Wisden Cricketer of the year 1988 comes into my team.

Neil Foster

With over 908 First Class wickets, Neil Foster was a great bowler, whose career was plagues with injuries. Nevertheless, he remains the only bowler to have dismissed Javed Miandad and Viv Richards for a duck in Test Cricket.

Oh dear... that's still not fantastic is it. I kind of want to go for someone more obscure (like Yamin, or Kaleem, or Kenjige to complete my all-American new ball attack) but ultimately the smart money is on either Sohail or Javed.

Ah let's go for Aamer Sohail. A competent opener and second or third spinner

No scratching heads over here. I consider myself lucky to at least get one legit choice.

I'll take Pramodya Wickramasinghe as my 2nd pick.
