It's summer, and I'm bored. Hoping to complete this in the time I'm off and I'm looking forward to getting back into the Golf swing of things :)

THE 2008 RYDER CUP

Match Format
MATCH PLAY
All games are played under Match Play rules, where the result of each game is determined by the number of holes won. The order of play for the first two days is Fourball in the morning and Foursomes in the afternoon. The final day's play will be in Singles format.

FOURBALL (four groups of two two-man teams)
"Fourball" play is a match in which each member of the two-man teams plays their own ball. Four balls are in play per hole with each of the four players competing. The team whose player has the lowest score on that hole wins
the hole. Should players from each team tie for the best score, the hole is halved.

FOURSOMES (four groups of two two-man teams)
"Foursomes" play is a match where two golfers play together against two other golfers and each team plays one ball. The golfers play alternate shots (player A hits tee shot, player B hits second shot, etc) until the hole is played out. Team members alternate playing the tee shots, with one golfer hitting the tee shot on odd-numbered holes, and the other hitting the tee shot on the even-numbered holes. The team with the better score wins the hole. Should the two teams tie for best score, the hole is halved.

SINGLES (12 groups of two one-man teams)
"Singles" is a match in which one player competes against another player. A player wins the match when he is up by more holes than there are holes remaining to play.

PAIRINGS
Each Team Captain independently submits the order of play for his Team to the appointed tournament official. The lists from each Captain are matched, resulting in the "Pairings". Please note that the players in pairings can be
modified by the Team Captains only if a player is ill or injured. Pairings are subject to change and should not be considered final until play begins for a particular match.

Valhalla Golf Club
Valhalla Golf Club has a front nine that is links-style, while its back nine is more traditional. The signature hole is #13, a 350-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot to a small landing area, then an approach shot over water to an island green.

Golf Digest consistently rates Valhalla as the "Best in State" and one of "America's 100 Greatest Courses". In addition, Golf Week ranks it as one of "America's 100 Best Modern Courses". Valhalla Golf Club has been the host
site for the 1996 and 2000 PGA Championships, the 2002 PGA Club Professional Championship and the 2004 Senior PGA Championship. In September of 2008, golf's most illustrious event, the 37th Ryder Cup, will be contested here. With this, the facility becomes only the third such in the nation to host a PGA Championship, a Senior PGA Championship and a Ryder Cup.

Can't wait and c'mon the Europeans!!!

Pádraig should do well after his open win (Thought I should just slip that in there)

Ah yes, I remember your story on the 2006 Ryder Cup with Tiger Woods 07! Looks very good like that one, come on Europe!

Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer will go out first on course to face Boo Weekley and Phil Mickelson. It should be an exciting morning as we kick off the 2008 Ryder Cup here at Valhalla.

Should be a close contest- but europe should come out on top with the strenght of their squard- hopefully tiger plays badly like he often does in the ryder cup

THE 2008 RYDER CUP

Match 1
The first match of this 2008 Ryder Cup has been completed and it's the USA who take a 1-0 lead thanks to a 2-to-1 victory by Weekley and Mickelson. The USA pairing brushed aside Westwood and Kaymer, leading all the way through the back nine after a topsy-turvy front nine. Boo Weekley was in especially good form, the 34 year old making some crucial putts as well as some exceptional approach shots during the round.

Valhalla looking alot like Pebble Beach isn't it?:p

Seriously though, excellent stuff, great videos KUTGW!

Ha ha, indeed it does :spy

If I really had the time and patience I would make the course, but as I don't this will have to do. Thanks for the comments :)

Excellent presentation. The perfect amount of writing for me to read. The video's are a brilliant addition, what do you use to record it?

I used fraps and then Windows Video Maker Mani. And yes, for a change I am only writing small bits. As much as I enjoy writing massive reports I think maybe that's why members don't bother to read my updates. So hopefully this will be quick, easy and enjoyable for you guys to read.

I have found a site in which there are tons of courses available. I am trying to download Valhalla, and if all goes to plan then the second match will be played on that course :)

Yeah it's not that I don't appreciate it, it's just that if there is too much I just get bored to be honest, sorry. I know you spend a lot of time writing these updates as it shows in the post. I prefer short bursts if you know what I mean.

Well for this story it's just been time spent making the presentation look good, for example the Pairings in the previous update. Should be easy for me to whizz through updates as well, keep the story active as much as possible, which is what I want.

Yeah that's good. It's nice to see such frequent updates. Carry on the great stuff Trev! :D. Oh and thanks for telling me about Fraps.
