Story The TT Lion's Journey, the "Original" Battrick Story.

30 over update)

Not a bad ten overs, that is until the two wickets in two balls-Greenwood for a great 85(89) and Fallon for a golden duck. :( :crying . A steady run rate has been maintained with a big over in between. Run rate still hovering around 5.5, so thats good, but the RRR is starting to climb. Cox has to go on. Dennis walks in, the next ten overs will be crucial.

End of Over 30: 173-3, runrate=5.77, reqrunrate=4.90 (270-9)
Gomes 5-1-17-2
Dennis* 3 (1 balls)
Cox 75 (90 balls)

Last Wicket: Fallon b. Gomes 0 (FOW: 170/3)

Wickets:

Two fell in two balls, a mini disaster, but hopefully we can recover, there still is a long way to go and we are into the middle lower order. The wickets:

29.4 W Gomes to Greenwood
attempted hit over the top picks out the safe hands of Winters at long on.
One shot too many, well thats how he plays...

29.5 W Gomes to Fallon
great ball, totally deceived Fallon and he's bowled
Its wierd how many great balls you get when you are not doing well with the bat...

Highlights:

Not to many in a quiet 10 overs...

23.3 6 Gomes to Greenwood
Takes a huge swipe and somehow clears the long on ropes. No footwork, just brute strength

26.2 4 Stannage to Cox
drives it down the ground through midoff for four

26.5 4 Stannage to Cox
straight bat, managed to get into the gap past cover and another boundary as result

Stay tuned for the next crucial ten overs...

Another small pre-update update. The RRR has climbed to 5...The match is getting close now, stay tuned as update in approximately 4 minutes :)

40 over update)

Things were looking close, as some tight bowling has tightended the screws on the TT Lions. But then Dennis stepped on the gas in the 40th over, taking 14 runs off it, not including 2 runs off a noball. This match is moving towards the Lion's way, with 38 runs required off 10 overs, at 3.80 RPO. Cox is nearing his 100 at the other end, A wonderfully proffesional innings, while Dennis is playing a good, quick capitan's knock.

End of Over 40: 233-3, runrate=5.83, reqrunrate=3.80 (270-9)
Leary 10-0-63-0
Dennis* 42 (33 balls)
Cox 94 (120 balls)

Last Wicket: Fallon b. Gomes 0 (FOW: 170/3)

Wickets:

Thank goodness :upray, none :)

Highlights:

A fair few good shots played:

32.2 4 Stannage to Cox
short, picked up to a vacant deep mid wicket region, well played

35.5 4 Leary to Dennis
Loose and pulled away for four.

39.3 6 Leary to Dennis
Attempts to get it in the blockhole, but instead it turns into a full toss which is slapped high back over his head.

39.5 4 Leary to Dennis
short, picked up to deep mid wicket for yet another boundary

Stay tuned for the final update, where most likely the TT Lions pull of a victory. :)

Final Update, TT Lions win by 7 wickets :)

Great victory, especially the way they finished it off, clobbering the remaining 38 runs in 3 overs.

End of Over 44: 271-3, runrate=6.16
Gomes 10-1-44-2
Cox* 113 (131 balls)
60 (47 balls)
And that's the end of the match. TT Lions won by 7 wickets.
Arima CC 270-9
TT Lions 271-3

A wondeful 100 for Cox, along with a blazing fifty for skipper Dennis, saw the team home, Dennis finishing it off with a bang with a boundary down to third man.

Highlights:
Milestones:
41.5 1 Gomes to Cox
straight bat, played down to mid off, good running between the stumps
And that's a century for Cox! Well played indeed Sir!
42.6 1 Findlay to Dennis
strokes it into the leg side for a leisurely single
And that's his fifty! Well played.

Cox opens up...

42.2 4 Findlay to Cox
That?ll push the run rate on. Cracking shot.
42.3 nb6 Findlay to Cox
no ball, Slower delivery, but scooped over wide long on for six!!

But Dennis didn't miss out either:

43.3 4 Gomes to Dennis
Edged through the vacant slip cordon for four.

And the winning runs:

43.6 4 Gomes to Dennis
lift, picked up just over slips, 3rd man running in vain to stop the boundary

West Indian team TT Lions have accepeted to play a friendly challenge from Pakstani powerhouse Falcons CC.
"It will be a good friendly challenge, will let us work out some tactics and have a good time all around. The Falcon's manager and I are friends, it will be interesting to see the quality of cricket in other countries."
The match is to be held tommorow, with live commentry unlikely.

It was no match from the start

We lost the friendly, luckily it has no bearing on my stadings in the Windies :)

Also good attendance, helps the wallet.

TT Lions promote young Medium Pacer

TT Lions have promoted youth player Karl Deane to the senior squad. When questioned weather he would suffer the fate of young seamer Stansfield , Zorax Doom replied:
"Well, he really impressed us, troubling our best batters. He missed most of the youth season due to injury, but has come back strongly. He seems like a more the 'Competent' left arm medium pacer, and he can bat a bit, which is a bonus. He will play his first match on the fourteenth. I hope he can become an integral part of our team."

TT Lions face rough week

The TT Lions are suffering a "Lean Week" as for the first time this season, the team is facing a loss at the end of the week.
"It has been a lean week, but we have a match coming up, followed by a few home matches, so hopefully this dip in profits won't affect us for too long."
