Time to tell FIFA and UEFA to sort it out.

No small countrys teams will win it, and because it's group stages and not knockout I doubt any can even have a good run beyond a knockout match.

If you want a champions league with only the champions then you will find the competition will just be full of 1 sided games and make no money at all. it will never happen anyway though now.

If there was only one representative allowed from each nation, there would only be competition between 3 teams and those teams would be from England, Spain and Italy. It's the Champions League because it involves the best ranked teams in Europe. There's no point allowing automatc qualification for a team from the Ukraine since they'll only be making up the numbers.

well you seem to have forgot the French and the Germans.

and who's fault is it that there isn't enough competition fro these smaller football nations. its UEFAs and all these large teams that just keep putting in money into leagues that are already full of it. I'm just mad that a team from my country that has won its league has to qualify and beat other team that finished 1st in their leagues and than come to the finals and get beat by a team from one of the bigger football nations that finished 2nd or 3rd in domestic leagues. It defies the freaking meaning of CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. Do you know how much money a smaller team could make by getting ManU, Real Madrid or some other big European team to play a game at their stadium. A few years ago Partizan Belgrade was in the same group as Real Madrid and Porto and they didn't lose a game at home, they didn't go to the knockout rounds but they made so much money by getting these extra games in and these big names showing up.

And here I have a guy starting a thread because UEFA wants to put a limit on how many foreign players can play for his team that has more money than a small country. And here they think that UEFA has something against the EPL, like come on you have all these things going your way and we all know that its wrong.

I think that the rule that UEFA is trying to put in is a good one, and if not in domestic competitions than they should refer to the old days when in the competitions organized by UEFA you couldn't have over 5 foreign players(i think?)

I didn't think they were worth a mention since the last German side to win the Champions League were Borussia Dortmund in 1996/97 and the last French winners were Marseille 15 years ago. There is a sizeable gap between the Eng, Spa, Italian teams and the rest.

And how is it wrong to be successful? Unlike some Italian teams, English clubs don't cheat to get to where they are. The EPL is arguably the best in the world and Fifa and Uefa can't handle that. It's not just the limit on foreign players, it's the constant criticising of the EPL's success and how they do things. So, yes, Uefa do have an axe to grind with English football.

Bayern Munich, 2000/01 and lost in the final to Manchester United in the 98/99 final previously.

Dare i understand what your saying and i somewhat agree, however you still haven't address the fact that english teams have been labeled cheats when they have clearly obeyed the rules.

My complain is more about them calling our teams cheats than the 6+5 regulation that is against european legislation.

Also whats the point in putting in smaller teams when they may not be able to complete the fixtures due to money problems either in their economy or as a club like we saw the other day a team got kicked out as they cannot afford to play next season. But thats UEFAs choice and not the clubs.

My mistake but the fact that Germany's best team was in the Uefa Cup last season shows that there is a gulf in class between E,S,I and the rest.

Everyone can have a really bad season, Hitzfeld did well to save what he did for that season. Recently, the only English side I can think of thats had a similar collapse is Tottenham, I think mentioning AC Milan's current season would be going a bit far though.

But to be fair with regards to Bayern, after that horrible season they won the German Cup this season and only lost two matches in the Bundesliga. (Of course, you'll all be quick to point out that the Bundesliga is an inferior league etc.)

The coming season will probably be a good benchmark with regard to Germany vs the rest, but then Klinsmann is the new Bayern manager, and for all we know Bayern could be worse off.

Bundesliga will overtake the Italian league in the future imo, it already makes more money than Spain and far far more money than Italy (Although none of them can touch the premier league obviously :D) and if they money is used well and they keep on to some of their talent then Italy can definitely be replaced.

Probably shown by Dynamo Kiev's results in United's group, lost every game, and most quite comfortably. Times have changed though, they used to be pretty good, with Shevchenko and Rebrov. Apparently its a quality euro away though:p.

Platini used the word "cheat" because apparently there was something to do with money and loans taken by the English FA when they clearly dint need it. I mean the FA is pretty rich and that money could be wisely spent on developing some of the smaller nations.

It has nothing to do with the 6+5 rule.

Why do you English feel everyone has a vendetta against you. FIA, FIFA, ICC, ATP,.....I am sure we will soon see someone saying PC are against the English.

I don't see how Fifa and Uefa is everyne and how is caling us 'cheats' because the FA took out unnecessary loans acceptable. They resent English football.

Since there is very little "English" in English Football, I am assuming you mean they resent the EPL, which could be true.

They have their reasons though.
