Ok, As we near the future we foresee, I've been fascinated by the Time Travel, Time Machine and past and future. Always, now the today's questions to the answers tomorrow, is/are why, how, when will these take place.

Certainly the urban legends are today definitely, won't stand by in the coming days.

I want a healthy discussion, no rag fights, no jokes, that might have this thread closed, for PC's sake at least, a discussion to know the answers that will change the course of tomorrow.

I'm a little unsure of what you mean. If your talking about learning from the past to make a better future, than I'm going to say that it's something humans don't have a the capacity to do. We are still making the same mistakes we have throughout time.

Also if we already "know the answers that will change the course of tommorow" than why not change today?

It's 'the path to' knowing the answers that will be the answers tomorrow. If you get what i mean. If we start learning or knowing the answer for Time travel, then it's the Answer, we have tomorrow(in general sense). I'd have added that quoted line earlier probably. :p

My point is straight forward, the time travel i mean is;; Time machine -- Time travel. Just to give an idea.

Obviously, Time machine isn't the only way to 'travel' to future or past, silly it may sound in today's life, which is my feeling.

Anyone heard of the Wormhole incident(s)? Theoretically, Time machine travel is possible.

Step by step guide to time travel
  1. Buy a clock
  2. Set to correct time
  3. Throw clock
Hey presto time travel :p

LOL, In that way if you halt a clock, you paused time.

?..

An year ago I'd have said different, but I believe now there's no way for this to happen. There are just so many theories, so many experiments, so many proofs against this. I don't see it happening unless our physics foundation is rapidly shaken by the discovery of something that changes the fundamental laws.

Can't see the point in time travel even if it were possible. You could stop bad things happening in the past, but this could lead to their being no future at all. The butterfly effect I believe would apply.

If you can't change anything, why do it?

If time travel was possible, people from the future would have already visited us and told us how to do it.

:p

Unless they are here locked up in mental institutions :laugh

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case :p

Picture it. You're living in the year 4050 and life's good. Mankind's gone beyond petty things like war and crime, but you decide it might be cool to travel back in time using a time machine that's just been invented. People can't understand why you want to, but you do anyway.

The present day - and you end up telling people about your time machine. At first, they think you're harmless, but when you start coming out with really crazy stuff, they think otherwise and lock you away in a mental institution. You had to go back in time, didn't you? Everyone told you it would be a mistake, but nooooooooooooooooo - you had to do it. And now, of course, you're stuck here in an institution. :laugh:rtfl:rtfl

On a serious note, I believe the only type of time travel that will ever be possible is when you look at a distant star, say one that's 1000 light years away: you're actually seeing it as it was 1000 years ago. Since it's 1000 light years away, the light has actually taken 1000 years to get to us. That, or the jokes about throwing clocks, or mailing them. :D :D
