Tour match thread -Scotland v Australia Aug 28

Watson is pretty useless with the ball. Not to mention the fact that he's barely played enough domestic cricket yet he almost walks into the team where as Noffke works his ass off weekly to be one of the best all-rounders in our domestic competition and not even get a second look.

Watson bowling came along real nicely during the India tour and he continued it in Aus. He is able to keep it tight and has got a bit of reverse. It is enough for a 5th bowling option.

I wouldn't rate Noffke batting anywhere near Watson, he is more around Lee's level. His bowling is clearly better but with Lee and Johnson they have him covered. If Noffke wants to be considered a genuine all rounder he needs to get himself promoted to 5 or 6.

Yeah, he's not bad in spells but you won't get more then 2 wickets from him. He lacks match practice and fitness.

I rate his Noffkes batting. He's got 2 tons and 15 half centuries. An average of 26 isn't bad but most of those runs have come from the last 2 years where he has taken off. Scored over 400 runs at about 40 with at least 1 ton IIRC in the 06/07 season. I always rave on about that. 1st or 2nd top wicket taker and about the 6th top run scorer or something.

Noffke has come along nicely but his FC average doesn't give me much confidence in his batting. Thats why he should get promoted so that he can show what he can do with the bat. Coming in at number 7 or 8 doesn't give you much time to shine. Especially with the players Queensland have.

I doubt Noffke would do much more than McDonald, I really can't see him taking many wickets at test level to be honest and his batting is definitely worse.

Woah, Lee started well. Should have had Moore LBW first ball, and the second ball was 93 mph and just missed the off-stump. Lets see if he can continue.

Denly hundred coming up ;) Denly > Hughes tbh.

Well Hussey got out for 150 and we are bundled over for 358. Not good enough really.

brett lee bowling at 93 mph and should have gotten one of the openers out first ball hes looking pretty good lets just see if he can keep it up

Good pace from Binga. Unlucky not to have that wicket. Ump was absolutely blind.

So Lee's bowling quick then, thats good to hear. I hope he plays in the first test.

England are doing well with the ball. Warwickshire are 49/4. 2 wickets a piece to Jimmy and Fred. Broad bowled 6 wicketless overs for 8 runs. Nice work boys.

Lee is looking rapid. Last ball clocked 92.9mph and definitely beat Denners for pace. He's still going to score a ton though tbh. He's in my Future Stars XI, it's all but guaranteed.

Freddie on fire for England. That last wicket he bowled was a good delivery. Quick and at a good length.

Mitch has started off alright, got his line and length good which is encouraging.

Lee's started off very well, 93.2 that last delivery, has bowled a good line and length and should have had one wicket.

Lee is looking really good. Consistently rapid, quickest delivery has been 93.5mph, that's seriously rapid. Now he's hit Denly on the helmet. I was really hoping he'd bowl crap but pick up 5fer and play at Cardiff, not so sure now.

Just a click below 90mph at the moment or a tad over 141kph.
