Exactly.
I wish they would do this with other Mumbai players though, like Nayar. He deserves a spot ahead of the likes of Yusuf and before this game Jadeja (I still have my doubts).
Jadeja to me is in the team as a specialist fielder who can bowl a bit. He bats far too low down the order for his style and there's not much room in the top order to fit him in. I still have doubts over his bowling, although it was effective in the last game. We have enough part time spin bowlers in Sehwag, Sachin, and Yuvraj, and an extra medium pace option will offer more balance to the team and more versatility to the bowling attack.
I'm just not sure if he has the maturity to play 'that innings' that is required in a situation like 80/5. I think he has the potential to do so no doubt, but when push comes to shove I don't think he has groomed his batting enough to perform to his best potential. I'm almost positive he can't produce amazingly quick 30s and 40s either that is required of a number 7 coming to the crease in the 45th over.
I think Jadeja is too bits and pieces at this point. He needs more time in domestic cricket. I'm going to look like a tool for saying this after a MOM performance, but I think he would emerge a much, much better player if he spent some time in the Indian domestic scene and maybe some England county stints.
I still believe Nayar is the better option.
