VB Series

pakistan almost lost today...They were playing too many alrounders. lets see mohammed hafeez, razzaq, azhar, afridi and rana (if he is a alrounder). Pak could have put in malik too. Hafeez did well 61 after almost 1 and a half years. inzi still isnt in form though.

My team would be:(for pak)

1.salman butt (good player)
2.yasir hameed(if he gets stuck he could score 50-60)
3.Shoaib Malik(great alrounder)
4.Mohommed Hafeez(give him a chance)
5.Inzi(this guy gets going he gets to 60-100)
6.yohanna(nice player)
7.razzaq(awesome hitter)
8.Afridi(another hitter)
9.Kamran Akmal(good wk/batsman)
10.Rana(unpirdictible)
11.Shoaib Akhtar(starting bowler)

not a bad line up, but heres mine:

1. Yasir Hameed

2. Salman Butt

3. Shoaib Malik

4. Inzamam-ul-Haq

5. Yousuf Youhana

6. Mohammad Hafeez

7. Younis Khan

8. Shahid Afridi

9. Abdul Razzaq

10. Kamran Akmal

11. Shoaib Akthar

Your Bowlers:

Shoaib Akthar

Abdul Razzaq

Mohammad Hafeez (he can bowl according to Cricinfo)

Shoaib Malik

Shahid Afridi

very good line up :P

oh, by the way thats if Shoaib Malik can bowl in VB Series

Lara and Gayle are both in extraordinary form, I can't think of any of the Pakistani players in form, Akhtar was the only one showing a glimpse of good form. The final will be Windies vs Australia i reckon

I dont think the final will be between aus and west indies. The west indes batting line up is awsome by they are lacking with there bowling.
If you look at pakistani's batting line up and bowling line up you will probably go with pakistan rather then west indie's.I am sure every one is disappointed with pakistans performance in the test department againts aus but dont compare test to odi's because pakistan is brilliant when it comes to odi's
Pakistan has a better record in odi's againts west indie's hence aus but perhaps they did well againts australia in there home ground in 2002 when they beat them 2 to one.

Pakistan play too many bits and pieces all-rounders, if they want to win they should play one or two all-rounders, and the rest either specialist batsmen or bowlers. If you had a look at the game against Australia A they had Mahmood, Razzaq and Afridi playing they are all bit's an pieces all-rounders, that's too many IMO. A specialist batsman who's picked for his batting ability and not his part time bowling should be in the team.

If you play genuine all-rounders eg. Flintoff, Kallis, Pollock, Cairns etc. then that's fine, because they excel at both. But in Pakistan's case they're pretty ordinary in both departments

Why would they change a winning team squiz?

They beat the indian team 4 times in a row with the same batting line up.
Overall i think this is a good batting line up.

My prediction is Australia and Pakistan in the finals, with Australia winning easily in the final. Is the final a one off or best of three?

The pak team is actually suited to the one day game- Lotta bowlers and pich hitters. Thats wat a team needs. But they are not quality bits and pieces players and are proned to collapse.

Twenty20 Tour Match: Australia A vs Pakistan
at Adelaide Oval

Australia A: 5/185 (20 Overs) (M.Hussey 21, D.Hussey 50, White 58*, Akhtar 2/37)
Pakistanis: 7/129 (20 Overs) (Umar 31, ul-Haq 21, Khan 24*, Wright 2/27)

Result: Australia A won by 56 runs

u know nothing about Pak.they can do anything at anytime.they can lose to the current zim side or even win from aus.
