We Should File an Official Complaint (Response from 505 Games post 99)

Also note the game I referred to (as someone beat me to the punch and mentioned the name, The War Z), this game was originally released on Steam as a Beta release. It had less bugs than Ashes 2013. I think the point could still be argued to Steam that the game was released apparently as a final, full build, however the glaring bugs and lack of full features as mentioned on the product page are obviously misleading.

-edit-

To be honest, the only feature that is not included is the fielding controls, and I believe, from the video, you do get the option of which end you want the ball to be thrown to (is that correct for those that played it?), which is technically some sort of control over fielding (yes, I know and you know that is not control, but Steam may think otherwise).

I wouldn't bother complaining to Trickstar/505; but perhaps send something to Steam - they have been known to give out refunds if you've never asked before (not 100% though); and a mass of complaints saying "This is just awful!" might get it taken off and not let them get the money of people who aren't as sad dedicated as us.

Talking/Complaining to Trickstar/505 games is not gonna do any good.. Best thing would be to try and find a way to take the Game off Steam, and also spreading the word about this AWFUL game.. This will help others from making a mistake of buying this.. I think thats all we can do at this point..

I have posted couple of Stoney's videos on my Facebook wall.. im sure none of my friends will buy this..

I also posted videos on FB and stuff and yes we should just make it heard in this small cricket game loving and playing community so people should know what is done and if Steam takes it down it will be amazing.

I haven't even bought the game. I'm glad my computer was bust because otherwise curiosity may have stolen by 20 dollars.

I don't think that a letter of complaint based on "fraud" is fair. I do think that such a letter, or general reaction, is completely warranted for the way the PC community has been treated by Trickstar throughout the entire process.

No, we cannot expect BA like treatment, but no communication would beat sporadic communication filled with lies, often with a very patronising tone. This community has supported their past games like none other, and still does, and sat through months of delays with this game. There was even more direct help with field placements etc.

I would consider a group letter that has nothing to do with wasting 20 dollars, but simply because we have been loyal fans over many years yet treated with zero respect throughout this whole procedure.

Let this be the end of Mike Fegan's involvement in cricket games, because the guy is a snake with zero care for customers and zero care for being faithful to this sport we all love.

Dhump don't take it so seriously as other have said no one forced you to buy it.

PS Me yes i buyed for it and it's worse than i thought it would be but i will still play it. I am enjoying it, it's like a realiy bad movie but so funny to watch.

Some of the Bugs are the best i have seen ever, god i think i pissed my pants i laughed so hard, my eyes are red from the comedy show i watched today :lol:lol

PS One of ross saying was we have a better game, well they don't have a game up to 2013 level. PS Its a good Mobile game with a great licence. Done.:D

PS Go the Aussies, time for a Pommy ass kicking.:clap

To the OP...i understand what you are saying. But filing a complaint to steam will not do anything and emailing trickstar will fall to deaf ears. It will be just time wasted.

You'd be as well contacting the ECB or Cricket Australia. As brands themselves they would not want to be associated with this pile of turd that is under their official license banner. They more than Steam would be the one's who could remove the product from sale as damaging to their brand integrity.

Yeah I agree. If you feel inclined to write somewhere, do it there.....

Dont worry dhump....every dog has a day.........

Been a long time since I've written here but I've been lurking and following the progress of DBC and Ashes for the past 6-7 months. Back in the summer I had originally preordered Ashes with Amazon but cancelled as soon as it became clear that the game was a sham.

I actually think that those who did still go ahead and buy it probably are legally entitled to a refund from Steam because from the videos I've seen in other threads the game is just utterly laughable and as unfinished as the infamous Big Rigs. Trickstar/505 might have got away with it had they said it was a beta release but as it's the full release and quite clearly won't be patched or have any support then there is a case for saying the game is fraudulent.

Valve just happily put any old thing onto Steam normally but if enough people complain and demand refunds I can see them caving in because, after all, they won't actually lose out because they can then just withhold any money due to Trickstar/505 for sales.

And whilst many on PlanetCricket should really have known better, I do feel very sorry for casual gamers who would have logged onto Steam this morning, seen a new cricket game, thought "great" and bought it and then been left looking at an absolute steaming pile of shit. I hope that won't put such people off DBC.

i feel no sympathy for anyone who bought it.

members here definitely knew enough about the game not to purchase it, both regards to the developer behaviour and the quality of the game.

non-members finding the game on steam, seeing no gameplay video in the trailer, a few s**t screen shots and the worst manual i have ever seen, they shouldn't have bought it.

caveat emptor. you got ripped off dhump... it's your fault.

i have these magic beans, pm me if you're interested.

Cancelled my pre-order, the game looks an absolute sham, worse than EA Cricket 2004!!

DBC2014 all the way now...this developer gets my support no matter what releases!

Steve S.

EA cricket 2004 had lot of positives. The patched one from PC for 04 really made it a class along with the greatness of PC patched EA cricket 05/07s.

This game is nowhere, comparable even to stick cricket.

+ 1.

There is terribly wrong with something if someone is expecting 'greatness' from this game after such a poor hiding behavior exhibited by the developers/publishers. It is just a common logic, you won't hide unless you are scared of the rubbish you did. People expecting from this, definitely need good sleep & rest to start rethinking with clarity.
