West Ham United : Two Worlds?

Yes, they're playing as the same team in single player, to make it fair and seeing who is the better manager.

Right we'll explain... again :p

Me and Jaz play exactly the same game, with exactly the same team, database... and we take charge of West Ham, and we see who does better!

Match Report:

I came out listening to 'Forever Blowing Bubbles' for the first time, and it was a decent start, but it was Porto who had the better in the early exchanges, to me, they looked a well drilled side with talisman Ricardo Quaresma, who is really in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo at International level, but he provided a few worrying crosses earlyon, ut we held out and it was us that went a goal up on 15 minutes. A hopeful ball over the top from Ljungberg was half cleared by Jose Bosingwa, and the ball fell straight to Craig Bellamy who beat the final man and tucked the ball away neatly into the bottom corner, I was happy for myself but most of all I was happy for Craig as he hasn't been on his best finishing form in teh pre-season, but he showed what he can do with that goal. We tried keeping up the tempo after the goal, but Porto made it very difficult and went close on 32 minutes, and it was a great ball over the top from Lopez, Quaresma ran on to it, and pulled it back for Lucho Gonzales to strike, heis shot was wastefully off target and he knew himself he should have done a lot better with that. A few minutes later, Ashton and Bosingwa went up for a header Ashton caught Bosingwa unintentional and Bosingwa had to go off injured, fortunately the referee Ian Williamson didn't see any malice in the challenge and did not penalise Ashton. Just before half time, we doubled out lead, and it was started from a Porto corner, Anton Ferdinand leaped highest and got a superb header behind the ball and the ball came to Ashton, he played a superb 40 yard pass over the top for Bellamy to run on to, and he made no mistake when he was one on one with the 'keeper. 2 goals for Bellamy and his confidence must have been sky high.

The half time whistle blew, and the players had every right to be ecstatic with themselves. Everyone had carried out their jobs brilliantly, and most of all, the deadly duo up front, Bellamy and Ashton, was starting to work wonders. Bellamy had been sensational, but without Ashton he probably wouldn't have scored either of his goals, I just hoped we could get a few more. I decided 1 change was in order at the break and I brought off Kewell who was on a yellow card, and brought on Matthew Etherington.

We came out for the second half all guns blazing, and on 51 minutes we thought we'd got another goal. A harmless long ball into the penalty box from Paintsil saw Porto 'keeper Nuno rush out to cash it, he fumbled the ball and Ashton tapped home, but the referee disallowed the goal for a foul on the 'keeper. I thought that was coming, and the Hammers fans let the referee know exactly what they thought about that. Straight after that, we neary conceded, McCartney switched off at left back and passed the ball straight to Quaresma who was clean through on goal, he ran one on one with Green, and tried and ordacious chip over Green, Green got a vital touch and took it inches over the crossbar and on to teh roof of the net, typical Quaresma that was! Quaresma took the corner himself, and it was a fantastic cross, and Pedro Emmanuel made a suprb leap to head the ball home from 7 yards. I can't say they didn't deserve it. After the goal, I decided to bring off Ashton and Bellamy to wrap them in cotton wool for the next game, so on came Carlton Cole and a debut for 20 year old Bogdan Stancu. Bellamy reacted surprisingly well to being brought off on a hattrick, and walked off clapping to the fans, the former Coventry (;) ), Newcastle, Blackburn and Liverpool star had virtually booked his place in the first XI this season with that performance. 12 minutes after the subs were made we got a third goal, and what a goal it was. A ball in from Freddy Ljungberg was controlled by Cole who held it up, he layed it off to Dzsudzsak, who smashed a magnifiscent shot straight into the top corner! What a goal from the lad on debut! I was feeling very pleased with myself at this point. On 70 minutes, I decided to make another couple of changes, Henri Camara came on for Kieron Dyer to set up a 4-3-3 formation with himselfy, Carlton Cole and Bogdan STancu leading the way, and also Nobby Solano came on for a tired Freddy Ljungberg who had out in a shift today fresh from injury. With 5 minutes left on the clock we got a fourth, Etherington held it up on the right and passed inside to Dzsudszak, and he played a superb through ball to Carlton Cole, who ran onto the end of it and smashed into the back of the net. What a performance this is turning out to be. Soon after this the full time whistle went.

West Ham Utd 4-1 Porto

What a performance and my ego was sky high! 100% record in tact and a 4-1 victory over the former European Champions. I was ecstatic for everyone again today, but here were 2 players who impressed me the most. Obviously the first one was Craig Bellamy who was in sensational form to get his two goals, and new signing Balazs Dzsudzsak, who scored a peach of a goal and created the final goal and never wasted possession all night long. Also, might reshuffled back for were superb, with Paintsil in this time instead of Upson, and Spector came into the centre of defence. Spector was a rock at the back and Paintsil is a perfect pacey right back and very sound defensively too, and it was good to see Freddy Ljungberg back too, and his part was key to the win as well. We wer ein tip top condition too, which pleased me most.

Holy crap!!!!!! well done Craig KUTGW.

TOUGH CONFIRMED AS TOUGH VS EDMONDS MANAGER OF THE MONTH
Today West Ham United superfan Giggity Giggity has crowned Craig Tough Tough vs Edmonds manager of the month.
Although the manager of the month is unconfirmed, Tierney feels that Craig Tough is blitzing James Edmonds already.
If what Giggity Giggity is saying is true then Craig Tough earns a nice trophy and ?500. So far no conformation has been made and we haven't heard from the manager Craig Tough.
All this comes off the back of west Ham United's 4-1 win over FC Porto yesterday afternoon.

More to follow as this story develops.

You can't really decide a winner as from what I know jaz has only reported on 1 game against the reserves where as craig has done three

Lo. Great post GG! Nice work! I think I have my tactics spot on now, and the starting lineup against Porto will be very similar if not exactly the same as my first choice squad.

That's great news. So's my news. Glad you like the update, I think Holdie's one of Jazs' fans.

Lol, another funny post GG :p You are quite the comedian! Go on Britain's Got Talent next year, you'd give the Cheeky Monkeys a run for their money :p
Nah its great to have a bit of banter between supporters, it makes for a good atmosphere!

I will tell you, I have barely anything to do for the next 2 hours apart from eating my tea, so expect a few updates! Just had cricket training, that was good fun and I have a game for the mens on Sunday :D

Jaz has barely updated? Come on jazy my money's on you!

Jaz hasn't updated because he has just moved to Southend and he is sorting out his internet now and he'll be back on Tuesday. He has actually done loads of updates, in a notpad doc, but hasn't posted them yet as he hasn't got internet, so don't think Jaz isn't doing anything! :D

And we shouldn't rule out the possibility that his computer, and indeed home, might have been nicked.

wow i've known chavs knickng things but houses? thats a whole new level!
