West Indies in Australia

The West Indies actually have a decent bowling attack . I feel they will be a different attack with runs on the board by their batsmen which at the moment is not happening. Remember , India fared superbly drawing 1-1 in Australia with not such a special bowling lineup of Pathan(debut series), Khan (injured in 2 tests),Nehra(not a gr8 test match bowler), Agarkar and Kumble ! I feel that the Windies attack is at least better than the Indian attack of 2003 but without a quality spinner .What India did was scoring 500+ totals consistently in that series (though AUS were without Mcgrath but were still a good bowling attack with Lee,Gillespie,Bracken,Williams ,Bichel,Mcgill)

Almost every bowler for Australia was injured or dropped at some point during that series. India also wielded Harbhajan Singh and Murali Kartik and a couple of India's bowlers suffered injuries too. That series was fought between the batsmen practically alone. 11 batsmen averaged greater than 40 and 7 averaged greater than 50 for the series. The pitches for the series were some of the least bowler friendly for some time in Australia and it shows in the first innings totals for both teams frequently above 400. Neither are a great example of a successful bowling attack.

The Windies' biggest problem is that there are mistakes all through their game.
Dropped catches, loose throws, no-balls, silly shots and whole spells of bad bowling, not to mention some curious field sets. The bowling attack doesn't need to be extraordinarily talented if the team is dilligent. Poor fielding and no balls cost wickets. An attack like the Windies' should be toppling several batsmen cheaply early on and then defending that advantage till the next new ball, where the remainder should fall.

Each Aussie batsman offered a generous number of chances, but the West Indies have lacked the resolve.

The talent is there, but they do not play hard enough.

Day 4

Australia has decleared on their overnight total. WI are now batting currently 0/9.

Lee has his usual swing going but can he keep it up? McGrath well you know him

Great catch by Warne and great bowling by Lee. This is much better from him.

Huge hit by Gayle. McGrath is gornski.

Gayle just hit a six and next ball McGrath dropped it. But it was a hard shot.

There can't be an innings defeat since Australia batted twice.

Another six by Gayle!

McGrath was thinking i'm not going to make it to 600 wickets when he dropped that catch. It was a hard hit.

Get Bracken in NOW!

Edit: As I speak he comes in. I must have a sense of the future. :D

Now this is the Bracken I know. Great ball going back into the right hander. LBW shout given not out, JUST!

 Watson just got a wicket.

Well 2 wickets down already, Watson gets his first.

I wouldn't be so surprised if the Windies made the total, as I think if there is any team out there that can do it, it'll be them.

But with the weather the way it has been it'll be very very hard. I think they may make about 400 or so and get out then.

With the guys they have its possible but will be a tough ask when Aus have the likes of Warne and McGrath.

Katich drops Lara of Bracken. Thats would have been a huge blow.

I think West Indies will be out today or in the first session tomorrow. Unless weather intervenes.
