ANTIGUA RECREATION GROUND - ST.Johns, Antigua

Name: Antigua Recreation Ground, St John's, Antigua
Pitch type: Grass
End names: Pavilion End, Factory Road End
Home Team: Leeward Islands.

Renowned as one of the most exciting Test venues in the world for its lively Carnival-like atmosphere and exuberant fans, the Recreation Ground saw its first Test match in 1981 when England were the opposition. Since then its atmosphere, facilities and charm have made it a favourite with visiting Test teams, even though many of them have experienced sound beatings in Antigua.

The Recreation Ground was also the scene of Brian Lara's unprecedented 400* in April 2004 to set a new mark for the highest individual Test score and also his record-breaking 375 in April 1994 against England

Three of the greatest cricketers of all time, Sir Vivian Richards, Andy Roberts and Richie Richardson all regarded it as home, and are all still revered by the locals. Richards and Roberts have stands named in their honour.

SCORE UPDATE 10 OVERS

Well NZ have had a sedate start to their innings and havent done that well so far in 10 overs so that the score at end of 10 overs is

NZ won toss decide to bat, at 10 overs, 44-1, Fleming 14*, Marshall 5*

WI havent bowled that well so far, they are lucky NZ havent got off to a great start, WI have already bowled around 10 wides and really havent troubled the Kiwis, somewaht Kiwis havent found their rhythm so far is sadest story so far them.

Astle played lovely st drive of Collins and soon got out to the same bowler missing a straight delivery and was out lbw.

Astle out to collins.
