lara again plays a lone hand in the west indian innings. lovely images mate your graphic card looks top notch. if only lara had 1 or 2 reliable class batsmen around him then the west indies could have been a really competitive team
And yes MWaugh I'm very lucky to have a good graphics card
I also agree with you about the Windies,They are usually forced to rely on one or two batsmen to play a lone hand in the innings. I was actually surprised to see how well Marshall batted. Considering how most other Windie batsmen played he did extremely well.
The Australians have lost their first wicket after a confident start against the Windie attack. Justin Langer, who had been the more agressive batsman of the partnership chopped on on from outside off stump trying to cut it away through point off Omari Banks. Unfortunately for the Aussies the lunch break came right after the wicket.
Summary: The Aussies have firm control of this match with some agressive batting from the openers. They will definitely be looking to keep the pressure on the Windies.
The Australians have been halted in their tracks by 2 wickets in 2 balls from the Windian bowler Lawson. Matthew Hayden was the first to go, He spooned a ball up from his pads that he tried to flick through square leg. Then, the very next ball the home town hero Martyn was bowled by an off cutter which clipped his off stump. The Aussies are now on the back foot after a good start.
The Windies have made another big breakthrough with the wicket of the captain Ponting. Like his most of his counterparts, Ponting was bowled by a brilliant inswinger. The bowler this time was Butler. On a funny side not, Ponting, who seemed unaware that he was facing Lawson's hattrick ball proceeded to charge down the ground and smash the good length ball for six.
Summary: The Aussies, after a shacky start have done well to be in this position. They are not far away from the Windie total and still have batting to come. If they can pile on up to 100 runs before the end of the day they will be in an almost unbeatable position.
The Windies have claimed two more wickets to have the Aussies stumbling at 235/6. Andrew Symonds, who was for the first time in the tour looking strong was runout by a good throw and an ambitous call. Adam Gilchrist, who was the danger man was unlucky as he tried to play a cover drive but got a little nick onto the stumps. Good bowling from the Windies has made this game much more competetive.
The West Indians would be dissapointed with their finish after having the Aussies on par at one stage. A good performance with the bat from Hopes with support from Lee and Warne pushed the total past 300 and the lead past 70. Hussey was out shortly after making a 50 when he edged a wide ball to Gully.
