END OF DAY 2

B.Lara 2*
W.Hinds 0*
WIN: 1/10

B.Lee 1/6 (2)
G.McGrath 0/4 (2)

Summary: The Windies have again made a shaky start to their innings with a wicket in the first few overs of play. Gayle was caught at second slip by Ponting after he nudged at a leg cutter from Lee. Overall the Aussies can be very happy with the days play and should look to press the advantage tomorrow.

HINDS OUT

Wavell Hinds has become the second victim of the relentless Aussie attack. Again it was Lee who did the damage; Hinds was trapped in front by a fiery swinging yorker and was given out LBW. The Aussies will be happy to get this breakthrough as a big partnership was forming between Lara and Hinds.

B.Lara 28*
S.Chanderpaul 0*
WIN: 2/77

G.McGrath 0/32 (12)
B.Lee 2/45 (12)

LUNCH DAY 3

B.Lara 63*
S.Chanderpaul 8*
WIN: 2/119

B.Lee 2/68 (14)
G.McGrath 0/43 (17)
S.Warne 0/8 (2)

Summary: The Windies have now regained control of the match. They have two batsmen who can bat for long periods of time at the crease and the Aussie bowlers are suffering from the heat.

LARA SCORES CENTURY

Brian Lara has again scored a ton for his team. Lara received a standing ovation from the crowd (including the Aussie fans) who have realised from this series that he truly is a legend. This is probably the last time Lara will ever stand and wave salute the crowd in a test match in Australia.

B.Lara 112*
S.Chanderpaul 18*
WIN: 2/180

G.McGrath 0/61 (20)
B.Lee 2/89 (19)

Spoken true mate, very true...a legend on his own...

AUSSIES CLAIM QUICK WICKETS

The Australians have finally broken through with two wickets. The first man to go was Chanderpaul, He was caught behind as he went on to the back foot trying to push a leg cutter through point. The next was Lara, Brett Lee (who claimed Shiv as well) cut a ball back into Lara which knocked over his leg stump. The Windies now need to form another partnership to again regain control.

X.Marshall 0*
D.Bravo 0*
WIN: 194/4

B.Lee 4/96 (22)
G.McGrath 0/61 (20)

TEA DAY 3

X.Marshall 11*
D.Bravo 3*
WIN: 4/208

B.Lee 4/96 (23)
G.McGrath 0/64 (23)
S.Warne 0/42 (12)
