WINDIES IN TROUBLE

Glenn McGrath has claimed another wicket to leave the Windies in shock after loosing another wicket. McGrath pitch a shorter delivery which Sarwan had a swing at and slashed in the air to Martyn at backward point. The Aussies now have the Windies in dire straights after they started the innings so well.

MCGRATH GETS ANOTHER

Glenn McGrath is on fire today at Adelaide oval after he removed Smith. Mcgrath again hit a length just outside off which had claimed so many other wickets. Smith nudged at the ball and got a nick through to Ponting at 2nd slip. This is a big wicket as now the tail is exposed and Smith who was looking dangerous is gone.

WINDIES OUT FOR 236

The West Indians can be happy with their performance but should be a little dissapointed after making a solid start. McGrath bowled brilliantly taking 6/45 which destroyed the middle and lower orders. Lee also chimed in with 3 and Warne finally got 1 in the end. Two pleasing aspects for the Windies would be the performances of Gayle (84) Smith (39) and Ramdin (42*)

Disappointing score after a promising start. Brilliant bowling performance to both attack and peg them back after pouncing on early wickets. Great presentation :)

LANGER OUT
The Aussie danger man Justin Langer had been trapped plum in front for 42. Langer was caught playing across the line from the bowling of Lawson and payed for it with his wicket. This is the second time he has reached the 40's then got out so he will be dissapointed at not going on in what is becoming more and more a batsmen wicket.

TEA DAY 2

AUS: 1/97

J.Lawson 1/25 (12)
T.Best 0/20 (6)
C.Gayle 0/39 (7)
O.Banks 0/6 (4)

Summary: The Aussies would feel they have control of the match having lost only 1 wicket up to the tea break. The Windies can't seem to breakthrough the rock solid Hussey who is looking dangarous on 38*. Another 300 runs in 2-3 sessions play would almost garuantee a victory here for the home team.

PONTING BOWLED

Ricky Ponting's poor run of foorm has continued. Ponting was caught back on his crease to a widish ball that dipped low and went through his gates to bowl him for a measly 9. Ponting had previously hit two boundaries and was looking back to his old agressive self when Banks struck to remove the Captain.

END OF DAY 2

D.Butler 0/15 (5)
D.Smith 0/0 (2)

Summary: The Aussies are in a very good position coming into the 3rd day. They have only lost one wicket and are only 76 runs away from the target. If a solid parternship can form between Martyn and Hussey then the Aussies could wash away the match and make it unreachable from the Windies point of veiw.

HUSSEY SCORES ANOTHER CENTURY

Hussey has again lived up to his name by scoring a magnificent century at Adelaide. Hussey had been strong all over the ground and has scored runs through most parts. He has hit 3 big sixes in his innings, the biggest almost 25 rows back into the crowd. Hussey is at this rate going to overtake his fellow West Aussie Justin Langer as the series leading run scorer.

MARTYN AGAIN FALLS SHORT

Damien Martyn has again missed his 50 after being caught in the covers for 40. Martyn tried to play a shorter ball through a gap in the covers but got a top edge straight to Lara at cover. Martyn will again be dissapointed as he was so close to reaching a 50. He still has definitely done enough to retain his place in the team.

HUSSEY CAUGHT

Michael Hussey has finally been defeated after a sensational 132 runs. He was caught in the deep trying to smash one overthe cover boundary, something which he was almost doing quite regularly during the innings. The highlight of the innings was Hussey's feet movement. He was charging pace bowlers to hit over the infield because of the lack of pace in the outfield.

HODGE BOWLED

Brad Hodge has become the third victim of paceman Tino best after being bowled for 24. Hodge tried to use Hussey's tactic of hitting over the infield but when he charged and missed the ball seamed in and hit off stump. It wa a marvelous peice of bowling from best who has really fired up in his second spell taking 3 big wickets.
