Windies showed some fight but had the conviction of Bangladesh :(. Can someone please make sure Bollinger is injured for the next ashes? If your attack consisted of Bollinger, Johnson and Lee, I don't think Bell would bother getting on the plane.

I dont know; Bollinger is still number four IMO.

If Ponting misses, who do you reckon will come in?

This has probably been asked already.

It'd be great if they brought Hodge in.
Hodge has retired from first class cricket, so no chance there.

Hughes is a chance I guess, got a big hundred today in Newcastle. I'd say Dave Hussey though, he's having a good year with the bat and has the runs on the board in the long term.

Why not? England needs some good specialist fielders in their side.

Typical Victorian post :sarcasm screw lucky and unlucky. He is a bowler and is meant to take wickets.

I didn't knew about Smith's injury.

Mckay finally got the wicket of Ramdin :) quite lucky tbh :p

WORLD CHAMPIONS added 2 Minutes and 1 Seconds later...

Bring in Johnson for Benn :D he will try to cut loose Johnson for sure :p
Typical Victorian post? Do you want to see one of your typical posts? Here we are.

Come on Punter bring Johno on take Bolinger off!!! Johno will get wickets for mighty Australia!!!! Get rid of Pup and Kat from the team and bring in Roy and Bear!!!!! Roy will take our team to victory

Wouldn't full on supporting a team mean you would know about injuries to players? And their stats? I'm pretty sure McKay HAS been unlucky, he's had a few LBW shouts turned down in both innings, a successful referral going against him and has bowled an extremely consistent line, beating the edge and barely missing the stumps MANY times. As well as that catch of Bollinger's which dropped short.

If it were up to you, the entire team would be dropped for clones of your precious Roy and Johno, and we would be losing to the Canadian second XI. In the end,

What does your life in India really tell you about Victorians :sarcasm?

Honestly, I don't care what team you barrack for but you seem to have ridiculous views on just about every cricketer in the Australian team.

Don't talk crap Dean. Show me a post where i have ridiculous post about every cricketer ??.

Anyway, i have no interest to agrue with you.

Ponting should have used Hauritz for 1-2 overs at the end of days play. Bollinger bowled superb and same goes for Watson. Roach and Tonge really not looking tensed or kind of nervous. Just hope, we can clear it early tomorrow.

Am I missing the boat on something as to why you are all talking about Hughes and Hodge coming back in the side?

Cook ;)

The thing with McKay's match is that you don't have to search far and wide to find bowlers who had a quiet one for their Test debut. Such bowlers are often able to find more success in the long term. Conversely, instant success often does not translate into long term rewards.

If anything I would say his accuracy hasn't been what he'd like, he has dropped a little short a little too often and conceded a run or two where there could have been pressure. It's been very reminiscent of Bollinger's debut in Sydney this year; he too created a few real chances, but not enough of them stuck.

Iunno about Dussey. I'd go with Hughes, or another random young batsman, a Khawaja or Cowan. I wouldn't mind if it's not Hughes, then I'll know who to include in my AC09 roster :D

If they're 28 or over, I'll spew.

Excellent bowling by Watson, I can see why the selectors were so desperate to find an all rounder, hes making an impact with both bat and ball. Johnson has bowled very bravely today, fighting through his bug and taking wickets when we need them.

Don't know what to think of Hauritz though, his bug has hit him at the right stage for another excuse. Once again he has struggled to threaten on a 4th day pitch, how much of this is due to his bug we will never know but the sooner we find a bowler that can bowl on a 4th day pitch the better.

The only way we're gonna find one is by blooding one, and both the national selectors and state selectors are unwilling to do that.

It's hard for spinners to learn how to bowl on fourth day wickets (and impossible for them to learn how to bowl on fifth day wickets) in four day games though.
