Yeah, you're not the least bit critical of Benn for doing that.

As I said he did nothing before Haddin pointed the bat at him and pissed him off. Johnson and Benn ran into each other and that's where it would have probably ended if it wasn't for Haddin coming in and getting involved where he had no business.

And If you look back a few pages I did say that Benn took it too far with his talking, I guess that doesn't interest you.

I can see your point about talking to resolve the issue, but the problem is that Benn had been talking for the WHOLE OVER, so they obviously didn't see him as a guy that could be reasoned with. Haddin pointing his bat at him got him upset sure, but Benn just couldn't let it go despite Gayle and Bowden standing next to him - hopefully telling him to shut up the whole time. But no, then he STILL comes striding into the middle of the mid-pitch huddle at the end of the over pointing fingers. So I can understand why Mitch wants Benn to leave, that's a personal space issue and while Benn didn't touch Mitch (or maybe just brushed him), he was certainly close enough and in a confrontational enough mood that I'd be shoving him back too.

The real problem for me is that Bowden and Gayle who just stood there and watched it happen. Why wasn't Bowden blocking Benn from walking up to the batsmen's huddle? The pictures I saw of Bowden and Gayle showed them standing around doing nothing and that's just not good enough. At least with Watson this match, we saw Ponting give him a talking to straight afterwards. Same when Dougie kicked the ground in Adelaide - Ponting immediately whistled at him and pointed him back to his bowling mark. Where was Chris Gayle's intervention for Benn? I didn't see it, he was just hanging around near Benn and made no attempt to calm Benn from what I saw.

The real problem is Haddin coming in and pointing the bat at Benn, the guy that started the entire thing barely any punishment for his actions. I cant blame Benn for reacting the way he did after Haddin pointed the bat at him.
Like I said he took it to far with the talking but he at least had some reason to get involved and keep going with it after Haddin pointed the bat at him unlike Haddin.

Oh boy, isn't he always pissed off?

Starts from when the Aussie innings began (standing in Watson's crease) to when then umpires had to give out penalties.

Dare and TumTum, this is really not that big an incident, Id hate to see what would happen if 2 players actually threw blows on a field.

As far as I remember that was the 2nd innings after all the ████ happened. And if you paid enough attention you would see Benn with a smile on the field most of the time joking around with his team. That is of course until someone points the bat at him for no reason.

If I was in the Aussie team, I would fliping punch Benn if he stood infront of me all the time. What a dick head.

And yet Dare you talk about tolarances

In all fairness Dare, no one made that big a deal of Zaheer pointing his bat and walking towards KP in England. They went on about the little jellyturds on the pitch instead.

Pointing the bat is definitly a classless move, but I don't think its an indicator of physical intimidation.

BTW Haddin is one of my least favorite Aussies.

Lol, oh yeah, the jellybeans. Funny incident, but I think Zaheer was within his rights to be mad about it. Maybe it was in good fun but still. As a spectator though, it was pretty damn funny.

"All the time" ████ then the match would never end, wouldn't he be standing there still?
Funny how nobody up to now has had problems with Benn, and then all of a sudden Haddin has issues. What was his business for getting involved. You can talk all about Benn standing at the crease and chirping at the batsman but that had nothing to do with Haddins reaction. Both Benn and Johnson were allowed to do what they did, it just they happened to be in the same spot at the same time and ran into each other, neither guy did it purposely.

What tolerance?

Didnt see that one so I cant really comment on it.

I don't think felt intimidated by Haddin at all but he definitely felt like Haddin was out of his place for pointing the bat at him and he felt like he needed to take that up with him.
Like I said Benn never had these issues with anyone, not the English in the Caribbean, not NZ and not in his previous test against Australia at Bridgetown.

Alright Dare, it's all Haddin's fault. Fair enough.

If I wanted to fight you because I had a problem with you is that mine or your fault?

It is his fault for inflaming the situation, all the ████ happened after was a result of that. Benn took it too far like I said, like sifter said the umps didn't do much to stop the situation from getting worse.

If I wanted to fight you because I had a problem with you is that mine or your fault?

If I gave you no reason to do it then yours, if I gave you a reason to fight me then its my fault.

Dare does have a point that Ben has no history of this nonsense, he is one of the more likey cricketers in the international scene and I have never seem him do anything other than smile and joke around before this incident. Haddin on the other hand was a prick long before this incident
