Me thinks certain teams would never have declared in that situation. Good on Ponting for actually trying to win a match :)

If Gayle gets going he could be 100 by stumps, not often he comes off though but it sure is great to watch when he does!

I would be the happiest person if the WI can go to stumps with maybe just 1 wicket down. That would a really good position for them.

I agree, many would have pushed for 550+, that was got Straus in trouble last time in the Caribbean.

Barath gets some luck with Clarke missing the stumps. Hilfy was getting a bit of shape but nothing major.

Literally within seconds of each other Australia took a catch on a no ball and Pakistan drop one, only to get the wicket next ball.

Hmm getting pwned so far. It seems so weird for Johnson not to be opening the attack. He's slid a bit in the pecking order since England

Cricinfo Commentary said:
Good to see Siddle given the new ball rather than the often wasteful Johnson

Bit harsh?

Hilfenhaus hasn't been as wide as the boundaries suggest, but there's no swing and Gayle is just swinging away. Johnson might come on sooner than anticipated.

is that Gayle with a hamstring problem again. He has been having that problem for about 2 years now.

Barath is extremely similar to Tendulkar, might be my eyes but its very ...

Looks more like a right handed Katich as the commentators pointed out.

Haddin gets an awesome catch and it doesn't count, feel for him. Hilfy is looking loose and bowling too short.

Cracking start by the Windies, reminds me of the days of Hayden and Langer blasting us away.

Siddle looks a lot more threatening to the right hander, cracks are appearing which will make the rest of this match very fun.

Vow 33 in just 3 overs??
A lot of teams nowadays are adopting to this agressive batting tactics and it is paying off many times indeed.... Just hoping this tactic to backfire on the windies!

How can you not have Bradman in your All Time XI?

Because its my test XI, and its to be different then everyone else. Bradman is god of cricket and almost everyone will have him at 3 but Viv is a legend who averaged 60 at #3, not to mention that he was probably more entertaining to watch then Bradman.

Thats not a team tactic, that's just Gayle playing his natural game.

Looks like ponting's made a bit of a mistake by declaring at 480. He's not wrong in underestimating the windies anyway but he probably overestimated aussie bowling??:D
