Hilfenhaus grabbed MOTM from what I hear. It was so tight that a whole heap of players could have got it. Hauritz is slightly unlucky but they went with the early carnage Hilfy did in the 2nd innings.

That Barath played extremely well. This is typical WI-Aus result which I predicted in MSN to WC. :D When a team with Lara-Walsh-Ambrose struggled to win in Aus, definitely this team won't/can't even put up a fight to survive.

Bangladesh would have showed better resistance. Anyways, Barth's innings was bravo!

Hilfy probably deserved MOTM because he got mostly top end players out, not to mention totally decieving their best batsmen, Gayle. A bit disappointed he only got given 7 overs in the second innings. That Barath guy look classy, spoke well as well.Future looks bright for the Windies.

Future doesn't look good for Windies, unless they get money or invest money in their team development. And Gayle is not their best player of this form. After he expressed his views that he only likes T20, he is not fit to be a strategy player anymore.

Lara days are gone. So we can't expect a one man army everytime. West Indies team need to figure out their future first. This can't continue for a long time.

I agree with one of the commentators, " Instead of cricket boards helping China to develop as a cricket team, they should rescue the slowly dying WI team. "

Why would they do that though, imagine the money the ICC could make from China playing cricket :sarcasm

Yeah, one of the comentators was saying how a youngster from a remote island had a great talent, but unfortunately he was to poor to pay for the bus trip to the ground so he quit.

Another thing a commentator said was, instead of giving the Windies all these big events, why not hold it in India or Australia where they'll get big money then give say half the money to the Windies, or more.

They are doing that. Australian Cricket board is also helping to a major extent for the cricket development in China, I believe. I remember seeing that in TV ages back.

Wonderful knock from Barath, this guy has some talent. I agree with Suren bhai, ICC should try to help Windies, they have some good young players and need the guidance and motivation. It will be very sad to see, where many legends came from that cricket nation dies :(

This win is just a perfect Birthday gift for me :happy

WORLD CHAMPIONS added 0 Minutes and 49 Seconds later...

Gillchrist is also involved with Chinese Cricket Broad to a certain extent.

The ICC is only associated with international cricket. It's up to the WICB, but it doesn't look promising going by the way the handled things over the past decade.

It's not like they've got no batsmen who can score runs. The batsmen can bat better, they just need to do so.

The bigger problem is their bowling. As Pakistan and NZ showed, low totals can be backed up by taking wickets. Even the Windies' best bowling attack isn't one of the best in the world, but if they're forever playing with one or two men injured, then it's rarely going to produce results.

No, WI pace attack is better than Indian pace attack with Munaf, RP, Nehra. :laugh :rtfl

And they have got the batsmen without maturity - Bravo & Gayle. Experienced Chanderpaul is not in great form. No Sarwan too. So basically an inexperienced & too much asking from this team at test level. Like I said before, Bangladesh have got better maturity in tests compared to this West Indies.

the future looks dire for the windies. this generation is coming into a team that looks quite happy being the whipping boys.

I'm not so sure bangladesh wouldn't have beat them even if they had a full squad. people laughed when I said that but after this, what evidence is there to say they would have won?
