well that's because Hilfy's wickets were all top order players pretty much. Rather Hauritz's were from tailenders. Hilfy did kind of win us the match by getting Gayle out cheaply. Also the Windies were never gonna come back after those three early wickets in the second inings.

Hope Hauritz bowls his doosra this series, he says it more like goes straight-on, whatever the case, if he at least has 1 variation, will be a great help to him and will cement his spot in the Australian XI for ever.

I thought the Aussies were not going to use the doosra? Have they gotten over that nonsense?

everything about that was silly though.

spin summit? wtf even is that? and then it being all over the papers and things like that. I think the papers probably picked up on it as a nice moral high ground way to have a dig at murali.

and we've had it claimed it's actually a brand new delivery to make everyone feel comfortable.

one of the less cringeworthy articles on cricinfo's rubbish-attempt-to-be-funny site kinda touches on it Australian in doosra-bowling horror | Page 2 | Cricinfo.com

the whole thing was a load of nonsense, if hauritz can bowl one legally, he should.

Even us armchair fans knew that was a crock, why would you knowingly not allow a legal delivery? Regardless of what individual Aussies feel about the doosra, its a legal delivery according the ICC. Thats all that matters. It would be like not using the reverse sweep because it wasn't in the text book 100 years ago.

Well they still may not be teaching it. Krejza and Hauritz were learning the doosra long before that summit and the general feeling coming out was they couldn't do it legally. We still don't know exactly what Krejza bowled. Hauritz we haven't seen do it, but if he does do it the doosra way and its legal then you will see a rethink of their stance.

Both will only use that delivery once in 10 matches, so the umpires can't pick up how they bowled it :D

Doubt it'll do much anyways, he barely gets any turn on his regular off break.

Actually I think he will be very successful with it (even more so than Bhajji & Murali).

He picks up a lot of wickets from arm balls (or offies dat dont turn) that just go straight on to hit the pads. Because he bowls it at a perfect length, unless the batsmen pick it up, will have trouble with him, because he doesn't need to spin it too much to miss the bat completely.
