Adelaide is known for being a draw ground but the pitch does start to crack up and keep low so it shouldn't stay as a batsmen paradise.

Poor Watson, 4 runs away from a maiden ton and he will have to overcome his LBW nerves again.

Aus looking very solid, a very good opening partnership of 174...Watson on 96,just needs 4 to get to his 100

^Well for another year or 2 maybe. The kids still got plenty of years left yet. And it's probably a good thing if he has to wait a year or 2 to get back. It'll stop him expecting the call up every week and he might knuckle down a bit more.

Keyword there; almost, he's maintained his wicket. Like Robelinda said, Katich was gun as in India in '04. Katich has scored 21 from 35 against Benn, SR of 60. Just because he's nearly gone out to Benn, doesn't mean he's ████ at spin; more than half of Michael Clarke's dismissals in test cricket have been against spin, does that make him a ████ player of it?

Yeah, Katich versus spin is interesting. He looks shaky right now and if I remember, he looks worse than he did a few years ago. Maybe he's facing too much pace recently to hone his spin technique. He's been batting at #3 for NSW in a Shield competition where spinners rarely feature and he's opening for Australia so doesn't have to play spin much there either.

That said, Hussey has certainly managed to look shaky against spin on occasions too. And for all the jokes about Ponting v spin, I really think Ponting is one of our best players of spin - once he gets through the first over or two of it.

"OMG, THIS PITCH IS SO FLAT! THESE ARE EXACTLY THE TYPE OF PITCHES THAT ARE RUINING WORLD CRICKET!"

:sarcasm

Hehehe, Shravi, we all know that only applies if it's an Indian pitch ;)

How old is Katich? Why not just stick with Watson and replace Katich with Hughes, when Katich retires? Watson hasn't really done anything wrong, plus his bowling is useful

Last 10 years at Adelaide has produced

99 W, 2000 W, 2001 W, 2002 W, 2003 W, 2004 W, 2005 W, 2006 W, 2007 D, 2008 W.

It might be flat early in the game but mostly becomes up and down later in the game. By those stats you would have to be retarded to conclude that Adelaide is a terrible flat pitch AGAIN. 2 draws in the last 18 years says otherwise. Lords is a hell of a lot more flat and produces more draws than any ground in Australia.

Hehe, don't worry, I know. I was just quoting some comments after the 2nd test and during the test in the on-going India-Sri Lanka series.

Katich is beastly. One of my favorite players from Australia. No nonsense.

Most draws in England are due to rain.

I thought the Oval was the flat one. Doesn't Lord's have a slope that makes it more difficult?

The Oval can be flat, but lots of results there this decade.

Yes the famous Lord's slope does make it slightly difficult for some players, but has no bearing on the result of the match. You've not seen a Lord's match on tv? the slope is very evident even on tv.

So far Watto has never spend more than 10 mins on new day. Just hope he can get 100 and then move to another biggy :)
