West Indies' tour of India (Feb 2022)

Well a clinical performance by India, though they did slacken in the field at the end there…

More of WI being clinically rubbish. I don't remember the last time they won something in this format.
Against India.... Agreed! But 3 years down the line they gave the current WC Champions a tough time. Unfortunately had a terrible WC to follow if we exclude their match against Pakistan & New Zealand.

3 years!! If India lost 3 games on the trot the world would end.

Chris Gayle had a three great innings that series. But they've won something like five series in the last ten years against the likes of Sri Lanka, Ireland, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Three have been since the 2019 WC, so I guess there's improvement. But they did just lose at home to Ireland too.

Deepak Chahar should play all the ODI matches from now.

No point of dropping/not playing someone who pick wickets everytime with the new ball.
I was quite surprised when he didn't play the first two ODI matches. He is the best replacement of Bhuvi. Swing is gifted to him by the almighty. He is a genuine wicket taker and headache for the opening batters.

They’ve won only two series against top 8 opposition in the last ten years and one of them was last year. That is frankly abysmal.

For all the talk about India’s outdated approach to ODIs, West Indies have both an outdated and flawed approach to ODIs. Their supposed accumulators in Bravo and Hope are just anchors/blockers who prefer boundaries and dot balls over constant strike rotation. Their hitters are too impatient for the likes of ODIs and throw away their wickets too soon chasing the glory shot on nearly every ball instead of taking calculated risks. And finally, they shoot themselves in the foot with their own terrible team selection frequently. Their spat with Hetty over his fitness is ridiculous given the leeway they’ve given to the likes of Gayle. And where is Lewis? He’s got five 50+ scores in their last ten ODIs, is he still recovering from COVID?
