West Indies tour of Pakistan

his 202 at lords was chanceless and one of the best double centuries ever seen in england,

thats not me saying it but thats what legends like botham, gower, raja and willis have said

I did say just about. I also tried to make it fairly clear that it takes nothing away from him as a batsman, as even if you are dropped or survive a goods shout you still have to score the runs, and noone has been better at scoring them than him this year.

That innings was superb, indeed I don't remember a chance other than the odd lbw shout, with only one or two being even remotely close. Still one innings doesn't make my point any less valid

every batsman gets dropped

none more so than pieterson in his 158 vs aus

You seem to be having extreme difficulty understanding the underlying point. Almost like some kind of primitive reaction kicks in, "Must defend favourite player".

I will be the first to admit that KP often needs a bit of luck, and when he gets it he quite often gets a big score, he had a ton of it against Pakistan in the home series.

This however again doesn't escape the initial point I was making. This is not, I repeat NOT, some thinly veiled attack at Yousef, I think he has been superb in the last year, however I also think he seems to have had an awful amount of luck early on in that same timespan.

*wonders if Gambino will finally understand, or if I should just give up and ignore this thread from now on*

he can get a 100 pretty quickly today

his slow hundreds take around 140-150 balls like the 1 in the 1st innings(155 balls)

if he gets another 100 he would make a massive jump in icc rankings as noone else has performed with the bat in this match apart from ganga and hafeez

watch out ponting as montys gonna make you a bunny next test match

congrats to yousuf great year for him. a record that will stand a long time probably.
btw he deserved test player of the year.

Great effort by Yousuf to get the record. :happy

The West Indies bowled extra tough at him at the beginning, so barr a couple of misfields, Yousuf didn't exactly get any breaks in this inning. Well done MoYo.

P.S: He has also gone past the Pakistani record of scoring the most amount of runs in a 3 test series, a record previously held by Zaheer Abbas against India.

Agreed, especially considering his 223 against England last year was considered for the award.

Absolute Champ Yousuf, well done on breaking the new record :D

The bounce is absolutely terrible on this pitch. One 'bouncer' just richocheted off Yousuf's helmet after he ducked to it. Pakistanis better not get used to this though, the bounce in South Africa is going to be at least 2-3 feet higher.

Congratulations to Mohammad Yousuf of breaking Viv Richards' record. The West Indies tried to stop him, but their West Indian bowling wasn't capable enough to do that. And he is getting runs so quickly, that it looks like he is playing an ODI match.

West Indies showing some true class by applauding Yousuf. Puddleduck's point proven further by Sarwan as he drops MoYo.

Congratulations Yousuf what an amazing year, totally deserved to break Viv's record for most runs in a calendar year. Looks like he will bring up his 9th ton for the season basically meaning Ponting will struggle to beat that unless he bats twice in one test match and makes 2 100s.
