What games have you been playing recently?

FIFA 13, PES 13, AOE 3 - Asian Dynasites (Completed camping for sixth time.).

Trying to play Rome 2, but man have CA dropped the ball with this one! It had to be Rome 2, didn't it - the one that everyone's been waiting for! I'll let Angry Joe sum it up for anyone who's interested. :(

Why did it have to be Rome 2??

Anyway, currently trying to make up my mind about Fifa 14 demo, given that Konami in their wisdom, have decided not to release the PC demo of PES 14 until the game's out. Idiots.

To be fair, they haven't actually released a Total War game that plays well on release since well before the real Rome empire was around.

Same goes with Civ, FM etc... They always get patched at a rate of knots that within a month or so the game is almost unrecognisable.

I can't agree with that. My first game was Rome TW, which I played exhaustively and exclusively with no mods or patches. Medieval II was a great game as well. Empire I didn't get until six months or so, because the period didn't interest me that much so I missed that disastrous launch. Shogun 2 was good on release as well, but Rome 2? There is just so much wrong with it.

Yes, it'll be patched/modded etc, but the problems for me run deeper than mere technical issues. A lot of the problems are there because of the game design, most notably the idiotic, bloody retarded notion of sticking 'Capture the Flag' right in the middle of a battlefield, completely draining the open battles of any strategy. Following on from that, 90% of battles are 'Minor City battles' - that is cities without walls. TW has never been good at battles through streets and this game plays to that weakness instead of its strength which is epic open field battles. And as an added bonus, all those battles feel like the same thing over and over again. Also, as 'Angry' says, the game is too bloody easy - there is no challenge!

This game is in a king-sized mess and should've been postponed the way AC13 was postponed; compared to CA (or more likely SEGA), 501 or whatever they're called have done the right thing! Rome 2 should've been amazing - the best TW of all time - instead of that, it's sitting on my shelf over there gathering dust, while its digital equivalent gathers digital dust on my HDD.

Have you bought the game then, Puddleduck? I preordered; that's the last time I do that with a TW game.

For last 2 days, playing test series in IC 2010. All credits to DBC news which is triggering me to start playing cricket series again.

The latest humble indie bundle is pretty good. I already own most of the games but for under $5 it's an awesome deal. Fez FTL and Mark of the Ninja are really highly regarded, and Trine 2 is apparently pretty good too.

SWAT 4. A pretty old game but nice. Some screenies-

I'm playing Rome 2 again; CA have released what is almost a miracle patch - really enjoying the game now!! Keep it up, CA. ;)

Time for a rewind. I am playing with my most favorite protagonist of all time, Tommy Vercetti :)

Hope you people can guess the game.
