What games have you been playing recently?

Well I guess I can't play any. I tried hooking up my PS3 controller to Cricket 07, the buttons are horribly mapped and there is no way of remapping controls like there is in BLIC 05. I seriously doubt the controller will work any better on the earlier games...

It also seems I lost my BLC 99 disc. Damn so I guess that means BLIC 05 is all I can play till DB14 time.

Well I started it, I'm enjoying it quite a bit, but not as much as I expected. Haven't played action games for around a year, I hope I'm not losing interest.

The failure of AC 2013 has reignited my interest in cricket gaming. I've been playing BLIC 05 recently, hunted down the disk which I never used, and had to hook it up to my old laptop with XP! The screen doesn't even work so I have to hook it up to my TV, hunting for the VGA cable was a mission! Going to give BLC99 a run as well, that'll be a lot easier as I have the game on PS1 so it just goes straight into the PS3.

I also wanted to know, which EA cricket game is best? Can I have an unbiased opinion? 02, 04, 05 or 07?

I played quite a bit of 04 and a lot of 07, but never the others. I can't remember anything though, which is more relevant today? Also anywhere to buy it in NZ?

I was in the same situation,got my interest back in cricket was into football rather lately.
Read reviews of BLC07 and I gave it a try,maybe 'coz I already had much of EA Cricket 07/AC09.You should give BLC07 a try,it's still so good in terms of both gameplay and graphics.It also consist of a completely licensed ICC CWC '07 and ICC Champions Trophy 07.One more good thing is that it's online feature still works pretty well,I've had great matches in last few months.

I never liked BLIC 07, I found it too easy. I actually bought it back when it was released then returned it a week later. I prefer BLIC 05, which is starting to get a bit easy too.

The only BLC game I liked was BLC 99. AC09 after Patch 2 on PC was a magnificent cricket game that I only tired of because of the lack of content. If DBC14 can be anything like that, we're in for a treat.

Yeah it gets easy the more you play,obviously.Heard people saying BLC05 is the best in the series,never tried it though.Screenshots looks promising,might well try it until DBC14 releases.

BLIC 07 is maddeningly easy though. If you compare Cricket 07 and BLIC 05, it's not the same. I have a slight problem with the Codies series though, the gameplay is quite shallow tbh, no front foot or backfoot, very narrow shot selection (can't be more than 10-15 shot animations...) and the AI NEVER takes singles, so struggles to get runs unless lofting it. It's very common to have fast bowlers like Allan Donald bowling around 100 km/h as well, it's hard to get them higher than 130... Test cricket is definitely categorically unplayable in Codies cricket, it has an arcadey feel, not to say it's bad though. You would love BLIC 05 though if you enjoyed 07. I just love playing as all the legends in the '03 WC and '04 Champions Trophy. I can literally play as any team in BLIC 05 and enjoy it, in a new game I probably would only enjoy playing as India and a few others. Classic matches and Classic XI is brilliant too.

Btw, anyone know how to remap gamepad (PS3) controls for Cricket 07 on PC? I am using MotionInJoy gamepad tool to use my PS3. Btw does Cricket 07 work on Windows 7?

Ah OK good, might give it a go with keyboard controls then, was trying it with my old XP laptop and it's hard to play on that. BLIC 05 doesn't, because of some unsigned anti-piracy driver or something causing problems.
