What's the story behind dbc14/17 ashes fast bowling animation?

What a great attitude. I'm sure you've never complained about something. A mo cap facility was heavily promoted and basically the only variation in bowling actions is the angle of the arm.
I try not to complain about things I have no knowledge about. If the motion capture of bowling actions is as simple as lining up club cricketers round the block or getting in someone who thinks they can effectively impersonate bowlers then maybe I'd be disappointed, but I'm guessing it's not.

The problem is the OP has stated he has not played the game? Again he is commenting on video's. Just as annoying as people complaining of bugs when they dont have the game! I have played all of Big ants cricket games and from I can see, my opinion, the ashes game looks like the most polished especially in wealey's, blockerdaves and a few others video's. Does this really need it's own thread?? I don't think so.

Explain to me how playing the game will show more bowling actions than watching the gameplay.

It's not a case of having 30 unique bowling animations, but having greater variation. An example: "I don't like how this car drives, but I can't complain because I don't understand the complexities of an engine."

What I am trying to say is at least get the game and see how it flows In front of your own eyes. Maybe I didn't explain myself but hey I tried. Everyone has an opinion which is cool.

Bowling action itself, the run ups are pretty bad too but I am more concerned with the actions. I watched the official IGN video and also a user posted one. I do notice there is a difference in actions but you have to sort of focus to see it. In real life the differences are extremely obvious.

Take a look at this game from 99:
It's bowling action is way smoother and realistic than any action in Ashes cricket.

No I have not played the game. And yes you are trying to watch the ball but as far as the overall feel and presentation goes, the bowling action plays a huge role.

If you had missed...(even if this ain't a bug, I believe this applies to all.)...

Spot on - I'll be blocking/ignoring anyone that posts a bug as if they have played the game if they have not, especially if it's from a Youtube video.

I'll be asking that BA staff do the same, their time is a precious resource and I will not have it wasted.

...
Ashes runs much smoother than any of those videos suggest. Those are VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE!!! Do you want me to give you a lecture on how YOUTUBE VIDEOS of RECORDED GAMEPLAY isn't even close to how it looks when it plays on your machine? The recording itself slows down the machine a bit and has to save on lossey format. On top of that it's compressed by Youtube.

Cricket 99 plays like butter cause everything is scripted and that's a 20 year old game! It doesn't even come in the vicinity of what DBC 14 achieved gameplay-animation wise.

I hope that I love the game, but I know that (from watching gameplay) that bowling variations are limited.

This is what I was trying to explain thanks @SibiNaayagam :thumbs

lol what are you all on Big Ant's payroll? Why are some of you so sensitive? It is just a criticism of mine, and not just mine. Telling people to go buy another game when they are criticizing something is really insecure.
I guess your job is done and your point has been noted but my question was why now? Is it or can it be changed as of now - the answer is a straight no. You want them to improve on it for the next iteration even before the current one is released. Your point may well be valid but you called for responses such as 'buy another cricket game' since you had a similar manner of posting. You don't like the game - you don't simply buy it. Can well criticise the game as much you want but put your point across rationally and we all are sure it'll well be noted and improved upon.

I thought a thread like this would happen but to be honest he is nicer than most. Now for the topic, the bowling actions are fine and a step up from there last games but can there be improvements sure.

PS My question for Motime6 is are you going to buy the game as I am day one.:D

Being a couch potato vs Playing in the sun?

EDIT: Allow me to rephrase - Sitting inside a confined space and pointing out the flaws (as if you know everything) vs understanding the nuances of what's even happening.

There is always more than what meets the eye buddy, always!

I fixed it, in reference to the original post.

"I watched a video on YouTube of this car and I don't like how it drives. And before finding out that they used a world class engine and I will complain and tell the people who made the car how to do a better job."

I have seen the gameplay. The bowling actions are limited. I am not saying they are bad, actually they are better than previous iterations, but that they are not very varied.
