Chappel wary of Windies thread

Indian coach Greg Chappel is now aware of what the West Indies can do after his team getting hammered 4-1 in the One day series. "There is now enormous pressure on us to beat them now. Nobodey expected them to beat us in the the one-dayers and they pulled together and outperformed us. We can't let that happen again".

Lara hopeful of series win

Windies captain Brian Lara has stated that he is confident his team can win the test series after a great one day series. Their newly formed team has improved to give them their first series win in 22 months. Lara said "We did extremely well in the odi's, and we must transform that form into the tests. A series win will set us up very well for the world cup next year.

Next update: Highlights from the Day 1 morning session in Antigua!

looks interesting - lets see how unrealistic the scores are though ;) no offence

I've used the BLIC ai patches so India should post some good totals.
i mean like 250-6 in the 1st session thats unrealistic

Ok people i need your opinion on this. I have used the AI Indian roster which makes them bat a lot lot better. I just went i bowled them out for 20 in 13 overs. Should i keep this in the story? Or should i make them better and replay it?

its a curse of BLIC. generally BLIC games dont last long at all. the games (test matches) are almost all completed in 2 days anyway

my test games are quite long b-coz i control both teams, im playing aus against pak in a test now aus are like 7 or 8 for 501 or something like that in the second innings and i made pak slump to 219 when batting first at home, in the third innings pak are going to have a high total from 300-500 but in the end aus will win

Ok, I think the problem is is that they are too aggresive, most dismissals were mistimed slogs were the dragged on or hit it to sq. leg.

I suggest to you is not use the ai patches. Instead create your own stats for all the players. I currently do that and I am still enjoying the game. When I bowled against India in a test match on test mode, they would most of the time score in excess of 350 in a hard or dusty pitch at a rate of about 3-4 an over. I've set all the Indian batsman's stats to 70-90 and all of my wickets come from edges, LBW and the occasionally bowled. Most test matches last for at least 3 days to me and I even had a drawn test once at Lords, but only because rain intervened and had bad light.

Erm is the roster your using updated? If so could you post it :)?

This is my own personal roster and its pretty much updated. Just remember to backup your old one. Try it out yourself and see are there any conspicuous differences. Remeber, to set fields that are realistic in test matches. :D For example early on, have 2 slips and a gully and a deep backward squareleg as well. And also place a man at short fine leg to prevent the batsman from always hitting the ball to fine leg and not running.
