Intersting to note that Katich is having a meeting this week with selectors about his place in their thinking. im sure the world cup squad will come up in that meeting... oh how i hope :P

That meeting was about his Test spot, hes got no chance for his ODI one. Of course hes got no hope of reclaiming his Test spot anyway.

With regards to legal streaming online, has anything been announced yet? I presume Willow.tv will be getting it. Also, how does Dish Network work? Do you need a satellite et al for them or can you also subscribe to them and watch over the internet?

Well you can watch over the net. Go to dishnetwork.com or something and they have an online option the last time i checked :happy

Scored 3 off 23 in the ODD today, so no, he doesnt. Rather have Stuart Clark swinging the bat as an opener than him.

Well that just confirms the selectors were right in dropping him. Jaques made a 50 probably too late to get the WC batting spot but at least hes given them a reminder.

Bad move !

Citizens from the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland and South Africa are exempt from the visa requirement but supporters from major cricketing countries like India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka are not.

Anyone from Pakistan will have to apply to an embassy in India, a country with which relations are notoriously fragile, for visas to travel to the Caribbean.

Read this for more

This is preposterous.WHy are certain nations been exemted from this ?
Also if you read the article,Caricom charged US $ 100 for NZ citizens for posting the visas from Australia :mad

I know the UK and Canada have relations with various Caribbean countries that involve visa free travel. I assume Ireland and South Africa have similar arrangements. This is nothing to do with the ICC or the WICB before you blame them. Blame your own government for not having similar arrangements.

Because, some countries require visas to go to others. There was no rule change especially made for the WC. Its been like this for a while :/
Luckily i just got my US citezenship 3 days ago. No visa for me :D

SHAUN Tait and Stuart Clark have become the centre of a selection room shootout for the prized final pace place in Australia's World Cup squad.
...
It is an agonising choice for the panel, which feels deeply indebted to Clark for his stunning Test form which carried Australia to recent series wins against South Africa and England.
...
"I reckon Clark has been the bowler of the summer - with the red ball - but with the white ball he has not been as effective," Hogg said.

Full article here

Indebted to Clark for his Test form? How come they aren't indebted to MacGill or Langer for their work in the Test arena.
Hogg has got it spot on, Clark isn't effective enough in the ODI arena. Tait should have that final paceman spot.

Stuey is a great test bowler but I dont think hes affective in ODI's and should lose his spot to Tait in WC

Kaif and Raina save about 60 runs a peice during a match. At least that be added to their batting abilities -.-

Zorax, i think the squad u posted isn't the final squad for the WC, but a prediction. Even Cricinfo doesn't have a squad yet, and they're the kings.

in light of the recent comm bank finals disaster, i have decided to name my team and why they should be there

Watson - proved very very good opening in the CT, wasted down the order with his technique
Gilchrist - Champion, hopefully will find some form against the minnows
Ponting - obvious
Clarke - obvious
Hussey - obvious
Hodge - Honestly cant find anyone else who could replace him
White - We need big runs down the order, it cost us in the comm bank finals, hes far too talented for his age to be wasted
Lee - obvious
Johnson - i really rate this kid now days, proved himself early in the comm series
Bracken - obvious, best od bowler in our team
McGrath - obvious

Gone missing:
Hayden - hes 37 ffs, why are they wasting their time
Haddin - in my 15, could even replace hodge if he can field... but i dont think he can
Tait - in my 15, proved himself in his last match, didnt make my 11 though
Clark - in my 15, too good a test bowler not to keep trying
Symonds - in my 15, obvious

I honestly think taking hayden is a waste of our time, he has just slowed down the top order the whole series bar 1 innings
