England post 227 to win for Australia

England have post 227 for Australia to win the Commonwealth Bank Series after a good innings from Kevin Pietersen. Cameron White was crucial for Australia in the end, and with no Brett Lee White needed to step up, and step up was what he did. Bowled 7.3 overs, 1 Maiden, conceeded 29 runs but took 3 wickets. Along with spinner Hogg took 3 wickets aswell. White took the wickets of Strauss, Jones and the last wicket of the day, James Anderson. Hogg took the wickets of Vaughan, Bell and Flintoff.
Australia only needed 45.3 overs to get all of England out, but it seems to alot of people that England will need to put on another bowling act like they have with Flintoff and Vaughan in the past to keep Australia under 227.

England and Australia 3rd Final at Adelaide coming up

England have kept Australia from taking the Commonwealth Bank Series away from the after a stellar performance in the field. Australia needed 227 in 50 overs, but fell 27 runs short of that toal making their score 200/6 after the 50 overs.
Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist put on a good partnership for Australia making 107 before one of the players was dismissed. Gilchrist making 69 and Hayden 54, both men happy about making the half century. Ricky Ponting was dissapointing, but made 15, Mike Hussey was the only other Australian batsman to look dangerous, but was bowled by the spin of Ashley Giles.
Geriat Jones was determined to keep his side in the match after Hayden and Gilchrist made the dream start, arguing his players on, in the end was a very happy lad taking 3 catches of Gilchrist, Ponting and Symonds.
But it was the bowling of Paul Collingwood that made everything worth while. Grabbing 2 wickets for the match, Collingwood was having a good day, first a reasonable 20 with the bat, and now 2 wickets for his country. Collingwood bowled 10 overs, 2 Maidens, conceeded 33 runs and took 2 wickets. Ashely Giles also took 2 wickets for England.

Australia vs England Game Summary

Australia:

Who's Hot: Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist have been in brilliant form for Australia in the Commonwealth Bank Series. This partnership will have to be smart as they know that the England bowlers know they are the best openers together in the world, so England bowlers will be on their A-Game for the start of the match. Sayin that Gilchrist and Hayden are hot, because have a look at their run scores for the Commonwealth Bank Tournament. Adam Gilchrist is 1st with 299 runs for the Tournament, and Hayden is 2nd with 295 for the Tournament, just dominating. Both have averaged 60's in their matches. Gilchrist highest score in the Tournament is 69 and Hayden's is 67. So both players pretty much equal. Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden put on a good show in Sydney last week in the 2nd Final putting on 105 partnership before the 1st wicket fell, thats just how dangerous these 2 can be. England will need to watch out for them.

Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden have been named the danger men for Australia

Who's Not: Brett Lee has been struggling alot for Australia throughout the Tournament. Has only played a handful of games, but here are his stats. Has bowled 35 overs in complete, only the 1 Maiden over, not like the old Brett Lee were are used to be seeing with atleast 3-4 Maidens a game. Has conceeded 175 runs, but has only taken 6 wickets. Alot down on his form for Brett Lee, was dropped for the game against England last week, had Cameron White to replace him, and in the end White took 3 wickets, alot of people are suprised seeing Lee back into the team and White out, because of the wonderful display White showed for us last week. But Lee will need to play a good game, get his form back together and see what happens from there.

Brett Lee will need to play one hell of a game to get back into the starting line up for Australia

Australia vs England Game Summary

England:

Who's Hot: Captain Michael Vaughan has had a great Tour so far. Didnt play in the Ashes series in 2006, but has come back into this side and made a huge difference. Batting at number 3, the world's most famous position. Has been England's leading score getter for the Tournament so far, but not that much infront of Andrew Strauss who also has been in great form. Vaughan has made 244 in the Tournament, 3rd behind Hayden and Gilchrist of Australia. Michael Vaughan has averaged 40+ runs in most of the matches. Has been the only England player that has been consistant during the Tournament, players like Strauss, Pietersen and Collingwood have been up and down all Tournament, but Vaughan has averegaed that same amount most times. Vaughan has also made the highest individual score of the Tournament, reaching 86. Vaughan also had some fun in some games hitting 18 runs of the one over. Australia will look out for the brilliance of Vaughan tomorrow.

Michael Vaughan has been declared the Player of the Tournament for England

Who's Not: James Anderson, as we all know has been down on form lately, take you back through the World Series where he would dominate the England bowling, and even would bowl 1st because he was that good. Smashed all the opponents, took the most wickets. But now has lagged of for the Commonwealth Bank Series. Might be saving himself for the Ashes, but they way he keeps going, he wont even make it to the Ashes Series. Saying that though, he has been England's 3rd wicket taker of the Tournament, just 3 behing the leader Andrew Flintoff, but some say Anderson should have taken around 20 wickets for the Tournament and not 10. His best for the Tournament has been 3/46 a good effort, but well down for him.
