A even start to the 3rd Final

The 3rd Final of the Commonwealth Bank Series has started and its a even start to both teams. Australia won the toss and elected to field first. Australia have already taken a wicket of Paul Collingwood early in the Innings, but Pietersen and Vaughan have settled for England to make this a good start to the match.
Paul Collingwood and Kevin Pietersen started off well for England taking the quick singles and hittin the odd boundary. Glenn McGrath and Stuart Clark were consitant for Australia, not making a foot wrong giving the England batsman a nightmare to try and hit the ball. McGrath tried everything, slower balls, yorkers and even the odd short bouncer, but it was a short bouncer in the 6th over, that he pitched to Collingwood, Collingwood thought he was a chance to hit a boundary on the on side or atleast get the quick single as Hayden was lerking down the boundary, but Collingwood couldnt time the ball right, and got a big edge, ended up in the hands of Gilchrist the keeper. Australia got their quick breakthrough of Collingwood, 1/27, Pietersen and Vaughan at the crease Pietersen on 24 and Vaughan on 13

For Australia it was McGrath got the breaktrhough with the wicket of Collingwood. 4 players have been used by Ponting, McGrath, 8 overs, 2 Maidens, 30 runs and the 1 wicket.

Australia dominating England

England havent batted as well as they would have like today, with players getting a good start to their Innings, but falling just before they can get settled. Kevin Pietersen was the only player that may have looked to trouble the Australians but even him couldnt find the ball enough to really dominate. After the 33rd over England are 143/6. Australia have been dominating this match for most of the game, lets see what England 's tail enders can do to produce a good score, but many people even the bookies have ruled out England and have declared Australia the winners already, but the game isnt over yet, England is well known for their great bowling come backs, lets see if they need to produce another 1 here.
Kevin Pietersn as we said was really the only Batsman to trouble the Australians making 39, Michael Vaughan was also good but couldnt get past a good start finished on 22, and Ian Bell was the same, got a very good start, but might of got to confident and was bowled out by Clark for 26. Other then those 3, Collingwood, Strauss, Flintoff are all made under 20 runs for the game, something we havent seen from England and those players for a long time. G.Jones and Ashely Giles are in the crease at the moment for England with Jones on 8 and Giles on 12, with the score at 143, from 33 overs.

Pietersen was good for England but Vaughan couldnt believe his luck

Brad Hogg has been Australia's best bowler taking 2 wickets. All of Australia's bowlers have taken a wicket, and all 4 of them have been consitant, and good. McGrath wont be used anymore as he has already bowled 10 overs with 3 Maidens, but Hogg is the one that needs to be watched out for, only got 1 over to come, and see if he can snag another wicket to make it 3 for the match.

A big hitting show from Giles wasnt enough for England

England have posted a very low score for Australia to chase. Australia with great bowling and fielding from all their players have pretty much just won themselves a trophy as alot of people would be thinking right now. Ashely Giles and Stephen Harmison tried to put their scoreboard looking reasonable with a big hitting show against Clark and Brett Lee, but even that couldnt get England past 200. 186 Australia has to chase down.

Flintoff makes quick wickets, but not enough for England as Australia Win the Commonwealth Bank Series

Australia have defated England in the 3rd Final of the Commonwealth Bank Series, defeating them 2-1. A Innings that really sored its way through with arguably the best opening pair in the world, really set up Australia for the kill. Both men making the half centuries for the match, But it was Australia's night of nights. Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden have dominated England with their own 4 hands with Gilchrist making 89 and Hayden making 76. Andrew Flintoff was the star for England in the bowling department only coming in at the 40th over and took 3 wickets in the end. Rick Ponting did nothing for his team, being bowled out for a duck by Flintoff and caught by Anderson and Andrew Symonds, the big hitting machine was the same, only made 1 run before he was dismissed by Flintoff and caught Pietersen.
Flintoff bowled 2.5 overs, 0 Maidens, conceeded 14 runs and took 3 wickets, easily the best for England, Anderson got the other wicket. But it was Australia's day and they have won the Commonwealth Bank Series.

England will arrive in Australia for the up-coming Tour that will include the Ashes series for 2007-2008.
England have taken a month to recover from the Commonwealth Bank Series that Australia had defeated them in. The England team had some succes in that Series, making it into the finals and beating Australia once in the Finals series. Australia have also rested for the month, and have taken time to go back to their home states and see family and love ones, but it all isnt over yet, this is guranteed to be the best Ashes Series ever. Eveyone expected it to be like this last year but we all saw the result in the end making it a 5-0 Whitewash, but England have gotten better since that game, and so have Australia, but England defiently wont make it a 5-0 whitewash in consecutive years.

Just some images from last year's Ashes Series in Australia

Just a year ago, Shane Warne was helping Australia win the Ashes 5-0 and more importantly, trying to take his 700th Test wicket at the M.C.G. But now in 2007-2008 Ashes Series, he will try and win back the Ashes for England as this will be his first season up for England. Warne still has another year contracted with England after this year, which will see him out at the end of the 2009 Ashes Series. Warne has had alot of succes getting this team back to a dominate side, as from last years Ashes Series, they have won alot of matches. Warne says "We are confident coming to Australia after a month away from Cricket, and we are looking forward to a great Ashes Series".

So are you gonna do another CBS series after the 07/08 ashes?
Umm yeah pretty much. Another CBS and then into the World Cup for the 2008-2009 season which will be the end of the contract for Shane Warne, and then who knows, Warne may sign another contract with England, or sign up with Australia
