I was laughed at a lot when I kept saying we were going to win at the Gabba. Tell you what, if a certain Pant was playing, I would say the game tomorrow is 50-50. And good lord, I have rarely seen someone hit the ball as sweet as Gill is right now. The ball is just finding the centre of his bat and pinging from there.

280 with 7 wickets left and a deep batting lineup is very doable.
Those lower order runs by Carey and Starc looking more crucial by the minute.

Me thinks 280 with Kohli, Rahane, Bharat (yes I said Bharat!), Jadeja and Thakur is very much doable. Caught a few minutes of the final session of Day 4 live and I don't see any demons at all in that Oval pitch.

The team batted positively in the 2nd innings and have set themselves up pretty well. Its ok if they lose, but they should go for the win. Pant is missed, but there are loads of folks who can be aggressive. In fact if Kohli and Rahane start Day 5 well and then a wicket falls, I would even be tempted to send a Shami or an Umesh just to go out there and have a wild whack. It can unsettle Australia and give the rest of the batsmen, especially Bharat some breather and extra confidence. He has a triple century in First-Class cricket and is a hardened batter in FC (90 games). His batting failures so far are mostly likely due to nervousness/anxiety. Expecting him to come good. Wish they had Ashwin in this game. His batting would've been invaluable.

The game will be done & dusted in first session itself today.
Should I get up or not is a question at 5.30 for the match. I usually get up at 9 am on Sundays and I think the match would be won or lost by that time.

Sleep man no point waking up for a last cause.

Or even if you wake up India will be 5 or 6 done within the 1st hr of play which will led you to sleep as well.

Quite an optimism. I think we'll fold completely within 1st hour. Such is IND bad luck + umpiring at the moment. However with 280 left to get, win Or lose, it'll be a fun time to watch Stupid Kohli, Jinx, Jadeja and Lord batting out there... The long it lasts... The painful treat that'll be.

Interestingly my "no interest in tuk tuk cricket" Wife told me it's gettable. IND wins today. IND did score 323 on day 5 at Gabba.... My goodness! this is indeed "ultimate test", turning non followers to a cricket pundit and fan :p

Wives are usually always right.. Will it be this time too? :rolleyes

Nice fightback. But this a tale that is too familiar. Raise hopes only to collapse in the 1st session the following day.

You just HAD to say it, didn't you?

We lost the game on the first day. Our pacers were too erratic and since then we’ve been chasing shadows, even fifty less runs conceded by them would have meant a completely different game.

Gill’s antics on social media are absolutely immature, seems like he is this type of kid though from rumours. Disappointing that someone linked with Sachin would have such a poor sense of sportsmanship.

South Africa have a decent chance.
I think England will win it easily
I think the fact England aren't interested in draws will increase their chances, as well as just being better than half the previous cycle. We got 16 points from four draws. You win two and lose two that's a better outcome.

There's no way we'd play out the two bore draws that happened in the West Indies. Can't help the weather for the match against India (although current England would've have moved the game on quicker), don't really know if Stokes/McCullum would want Broad and Jimmy blocking out a draw like in Sydney.

Still could end up on 16 pts but you know it'd be fun to watch.
