Worst sport, vote on opinion

To all the people from NSW here bagging AR, your all rednecks that are jealous thugby can't generate the interest the AFL does. The NRL don't even have teams representing WA and SA. Can't even get crowds over 10,000 at most games.

You're an idiot and completely ignorant to Rugby League, the word hypocrite comes to mind. I'm so sick of people arguing whether AFL or Rugby League is better. Get over it mate, everyone has different tastes in sport. Then idiots like yourself say all these stupid comments like people from NSW are rednecks, how that term applies is beyond me, i think it shows how ignorant and narrowminded you are.

It's sad to see so many one eyed soccer fans, that don't open there eyes and look at other football codes around the world, soccer is not the only sport in this world, just because it's the most popular dosn't mean it's the best!...Ford (car company in Aus) sells more cars here than Mercedis (spelling) but Ford make crap cars, just because it sells, dosn't mean it's better.

Okay.....although I personally believe AFL is far better than league, can't you see the hyopcracy here? On one hand, you're justifying your argument of AFL being the better sport because of ticket sales and public interest, yet on the other, you're saying the amount of sales doesn't have any bearing on the quality of something..."Mercedes just doesn't generate enough interest, you know". As mentioned above, everyone has different tastes in sport- if you were brought up in an AFL environment, then great. If another was raised in an athletics based culture, then that's fine too. Where'd you come up with the redneck thing, by the way?

Im sorry but it's reality, have you noticed in coutries that have there own football codes, soccer is not usually dominating the sports market and is usually 2nd best. eg Australia, New Zealand, America.

Err, selective use of facts?

As for the sports I find to be the worst: Golf, lawn bowls, croquet, American Football, Baseball, Basketball, Rugby League (I understand it to a decent level, as I'm from Sydney and my whole line of ancestors dating back like 200 years were from NSW before the UK/Europe, hence I hear about it, but don't actually like it, and don't watch games), snooker, and darts among others.
Sports I like, and follow: Football (soccer), AFL, Rugby Union, Athletics (middle distance running), and Cricket. I play soccer, cricket and do athletics.

Are, do you honselty believe Soccer is bigger than Americabn Football in America? bigger than Rugby in New Zealand? and AR in Australia?

Ignore the rednecks comment, it was just a joke mate.

In fact ignore my post altogether, it was posted at 2am, i don't know if i got my point across clearly, i meant that i hate how people bag Aussie Rules, even though there have never seen it, just hate Australians.

Anyway i don't care anymore, im happy supporting my faviorite sport and obviously other people enjoy there sports...

There is only really one sport that I hate; Horse Racing. It's the horses who are the sportsmen! Not the jockeys.

Oh, I know soccer's nowhere near Union in NZ, NFL in America, etc, but I'm just saying you used a very select number of countries to back up your theories. And I realise what you were trying to get across (you failed miserably, by the way :p), or at least now, anyway; I've just read through most of this thread- the biggest load of subjective crap I've ever seen! Many do actually accuse AFL of being a 'pointless' sport because of its origins, and simply because they don't have a clue what's going on. Fair enough if they don't genuinely like it, but the former is no excuse, really.

I'm in complete agreement of that, but, come on, as if the Melbourne Cup isn't exciting? :p I don't follow horse-racing in any shape or form, but all throughout school we've had the horse draws and rubbish prizes- one of our teacher's even organized it last November, in year eight!- and it's always been a great spectacle over here. So, basically, I like horse-racing for about two minutes a year...
Oh, not that they're bad or anything- I appreciate and fully respect the amount of training and fitness put into it- but I've never been a big fan of motorsports.

What gets me about horse racing is that it's clearly run primarily for the gambling industry, and then people are shocked when there is corruption uncovered.

I actually find the Melbourne Cup boring with all other horse racing. Yeah there is lots of public interest but I don't know any of the horses or jockeys and in the end it's the same as many other races. Like in V8 Supercars with the Bathurst 1000, what is it 260 laps of cars going around in a circle. I'd much rather watch the sprint races where there is about 20 laps, but then I'm not a huge motorsport fan either.

But it depends on what you define as bigger with sports. Participation wise soccer is more popular than Aussie Rules, but supporter wise by going to games and so on it is the other way around. Although cricket is the national game as it's the only one played and watched in decent numbers all over the country.

Lol, yer, i dont understand why us Victorians get a day off for a stupid horse race.

But i dont care, ill take it:D :p

I barely know any of the participating horses or anything, but the whole school sweepstakes theme makes it kinda interesting....not that I've actually seen the live race these last three years, though, seeing as school finishes roughly at the same time the cup commences, and then come the train/bus rides! We should get a day off, too; it's not like you Victorian students are actually going to attend the thing, anyway! :p

ok ok, this is easy,

the worst sport to watch is Football/Soccer as there is so much cheating and diving, it really gets my back up, in Rugby, both codes, you would be laughed out of the stadium, bar Gavin Henson, id give him a forearm to the face!

The worst sport to play would be Golf!

The best, just for me if Rugby League and Cricket!

Horse racing is deadset boring unless of course you have a bet on it. V8 is quite enjoying for me mainly cause I have someone to support.

Golf is very boring to watch.I don't think other than the players who are playing anyone is interested.
