Wrestling thread

Official reports about wrestlers' death are normally being placed on WWE's frontpage.

The Undertaker is on vacation.

Shocking news! I read this on another forum and I just couldn't believe it until I saw the official thing on wwe.com. Huge loss for the WWE.
RIP Eddie Guerrero.

I hope this guy gets fired.

ESPN Radio Host Makes Tasteless Comments About Guerrero Passing
Submitted by Daniel Pena on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 2:23 PM EST

Anthony P. Landrosh sent in the following letter to me. He said that he was listening to ESPN radio earlier today, "The Herd With Colin Cowherd", and Colin Cowherd said some rude comments about Eddie Guerrero's passing. He accused Eddie and other wrestlers of steroid use. Cowherd said, "who cares that he died" and that Guerrero's death was not "newsworthy." He also started speculation on the "unknown causes" of his death.

Colin Cowherd has a subsite on ESPN.com, which you can visit by CLICKING HERE. He's the guy on the top banner of the page. His site also has an e-mail form where you can send an e-mail. CLICK HERE to visit the e-mail page if you have something to say to him.

ESPN Customer Service Phone Number
Submitted by Daniel Pena on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 4:01 PM EST

Nate Dickey sent in the following...

Mr. Pena,

Your report of ESPN Radio and Colin Cowherd was shocking and horrible. I've contacted ESPN to complain. Please make another post informing the viewers of LordsOfPain.net that you can call ESPN at 860-766-2000. They can call, they will have to ask to speak to a customer service person, that way the voice of fans can be heard. Hopefully Colin the Coward Coherd will be fired. Thanks.

Nate Dickey

Also, Nate said that he talked to customer service and they said that they will tell the producers of Colin's Cowherd's radio show for a possible reprimand and punishment for Colin Cowherd. If you guys call by the droves, it'll definately make it all the more likely that Mr. Cowherd gets in trouble for what he said. Every phone call made to ESPN's customer service really helps.

Eddie Guerrero Memorial Guestbook, ESPN Phonecalls Update
Submitted by Daniel Pena on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 4:42 PM EST

Legacy.com has a memorial guestbook online where people can post their condolences and memories on Eddie Guerrero. The guestbook already has 46 pages of tributes from friends and fans. CLICK HERE to visit the guestbook. Thanks to Terry for finding the link.

Here's an e-mail Derrick Nonweiler sent me about people calling ESPN's customer service phone number to complain about the disparing remarks ESPN Radio host Colin Cowherd made about Eddie Guerrero earlier today when he said "who cares that he died" and that his death was not "newsworthy", among some other insensitive comments he made. ESPN has been getting phone calls in the droves from wrestling fans like you and they are really helping. It looks like this guy is going to get in trouble because of what he said about Eddie Guerrero. Once again, ESPN's phone number is 860-766-2000.

He should be fired on the spot. His comments were uncalled for especially on the people Eddie left behind.

What is there to gain by making the comments he did? Nothing, the only thing it will do is get heaps of wrestling fans against him and probably lots of other normal people.

All right, you can listen to the comments that the guy made. If this mp3 isn't allowed here, then delete it.

ESPN Radio Audio File, Phone Number Disconnected, More
Submitted by Daniel Pena on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 8:24 PM EST

MANY thanks to Chad Mosher and DaveCanada for taking time out to splice out the portion of the part where Eddie Guerrero is talked about on "The Herd With Colin Cowherd" radio show earlier today on ESPN Radio. You can determine for yourself if Colin Cowherd went overboard or not with his comments on Guerrero.

Click the link below to download the audio file. Then click the "Free" button on the page. Then it will take you to another page where you have to wait approx. 21 seconds before you can download the file. After the countdown ends, click the link to save it to your PC or listen to it on your audio player.

Some other segments:

In the subject I refereed to Eddie. Colin "Coward" is deleting the Eddie Guerrero e-mails, not wanting to acknowledge them I suppose. I would suggest putting a different subject, and not making mention to Eddie, in an attempt to get the e-mail read.

Michael Polzien notified me that the phone number to ESPN's customer service office as been disconnected. Apparently, they were getting thousands upon thousands of calls from angry wrestling fans. You guys definately made your point. If you want to personally call them, try again tomorrow. They can't leave it disconnected forever.

I absolutely hate wrestling, but one of my mate that lives by it told me about this guys death!

He is american and on TV they announced it was due to excessive drug use and excessive training. The mixture of the two killed him.

Here is the reason.

Vickie Guerrero speaks on Eddie's autopsy report
Nov. 15, 2005

After the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero, WWE and the entire sports-entertainment community is steel reeling from the devastating loss of a champion. The initial autopsy reports on Guerrero have come in. WWE.com spoke with Eddie?s widow, Vickie Guerrero, earlier today.

?It was heart failure. It was from his past ? the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that?s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.

As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn?t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn?t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn?t feeling good and we thought it was just ?road tired.? So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard.

When he didn?t call me last night and the night before I knew it was for real, because he would call me every night. I miss his phone calls. I cried through the whole thing (last night).

I loved his laugh. His laugh was the best.

We just celebrated his four-year sobriety last Thursday. We just thought we had life by the handful. We thought we had it all figured out. He worked so hard to make a better life for us.

I?m just overwhelmed by how people are coming out. It?s touched my heart a lot.

Everybody was just in awe last night in how beautifully everything was put together.

All my life was wrestling. All he did was take care of them and live for that. And I don?t know what to do now.?
