You've been Warnered!

Thing about Warner is that he predominantly will play over Mid-Wicket and Cover. 50 runs were scored in these two regions. Reasons? Bowling short, wide and giving him too much room. He has a lot of potential but a lot of weaknesses. Steyn is one of the players that should be able to shut him down but he bowled far too short yesterday.

Umm, Aussie 1st, I think you should remove Afridi from your list of players to check out as far as performance in their first 2 games goes, seeing as he made a hundred off 37 balls in his first international innings.

Or maybe you were trying to make Warner look less impressive.

Well I hope he doesn't go down the same road Afridi has. If he averages 23 I too will be calling for him to be dropped.

I know but hes batting 6/7, if he was number 8 then fine but don't know about a top 7 batter with an average of 23. But hes still there so maybe Warner should get working on his leggies!

AWTA. Afridi is a waste of space if included as a batsman alone.

I must admit, Warner did impress me with that hook shot off Kallis, he smashed it and it made that nice "Crack!" sound when it came off the bat. Sure it was a cross bat shot, but there was nothing ugly about it, he does have talent.

He's a whacker, Entertaining and just a big smasher. He's future of the australian side if he continues this kind of batting. Hope to see more from him, but for now, he's just really good. Got lots of potential.

T20 and ODI are different forms of the game....
1st T20 he scored 89, 2nd ODI he scored 69 pretty good effort if I do say so myself. Go have a look at how many runs Gilly, Dhoni, Afridi, Tendulkar and any other player you want made after 2 games.

dont you ever try:eek: to compare him to Tendulkar dude. It is really early to say that. as far as tendulkar is concerned, he debuted at the age of :hpraise16. if you wanna ask wat tendulkar was doing at the age of 23 or 24 well, he was :hpraise:hpraise:hpraise:hpraise:hpraiseno.1 batsmen at the age of 21 and was beating the :DSHITE out of Shane warne and company. I admit Warner had :clappotential but he looks terrible:p against Spinners. he has to improve himself.

P.S: A unique record which tendulkar holds is that he is not only the youngest player ever to play Ranji Trophy,Duleep Trophy and Irani Trophy(at the age of 14) but he was the only player to score century in his debut of each of the above championships. a really unique record.

Were you guys criticizing Tendulkar after his 2 failures? I think not, yet the media and other people were saying Warner should be dropped after failing in his 1st ODI. Whether he deserved to be in the side or not, hes was in there and no bloke deserves just one game to show what he can do.

i am not against warner. And it is just stupid media who start crying like baby after one or two bad matches. Only thing i am saying is that u cannot compare a 24 year old warner to a 16 year old tendulkar. At the age of 24 every bowler used to fear him.

Here are Steve Waugh's words for him after losing in Sharjah 1998---" We have lost to tendulkar not india."

Lol for the last time I was not making any comparisons with Tendulkar. I probably took the post I was replying to the wrong way but I never said he was better or worst than Tendulkar.
